In the plateau phase of production based on published predicted flow numbers , the $1.20 per thousand cubic feet paid and, my playing with a casio calculator; the income from the gas will be just over £400 MILLION STERLING per annum.

If they raise substantial new funds to keep a larger chunk of this action and the pay off is much greater ; easily covering the debt; then its a no-brainer.
I do not think they will issue debt unless this gas project is a definite go with well calculated costings and returns.
If they were raising debt solely for the likes of wildcat drilling that would be a major concern.
We will learn soon enough whether it will happen.

Is it good news if they raise more debt? Isn't that the millstone around the neck of most O&G. Whats the consensus on the best way ahead farm-in or sale or DIY.

I know that's a tricky question and I'm happy holding for another 18 months to get to the value but just interested in watching my eggs in this basket :-)

That is very positive. If the gas project is confirmed , my guess is GENL will raise around £750 million in a new bond issue. Hopefully with the reasonable rate of 7.5%.

Oh dear Stan lol. I think most who like to play O & G have had some difficult times. The collapse in POO undermined many logical investment decisions.
No-one saw the severity of the collapse coming.

For those of a nervous disposition there is no shame in taking your GENL profits now.
If you are fretting as to whether gas will flow maybe sell and bank your profits.

Am personally sitting on a very nice paper gain . I have decided to let the wheel of fortune spin again as, on the balance of probability, I think the gas WILL be developed with very significant upside for GENL on the confirmation announcement.

We will know soon enough regarding the gas; one way or the other. When the update RNS is out it will be difficult to trade fast enough, imo. Good or bad,. Place your bets.

Actually 7rademark I have absolutely no idea - I just felt the need to try to be funny. My kids tell me not to bother but nobody can stop me here. They may fail to get a deal done for the gas completely.

My friends over at UKOG like me really they just don't know it yet :-)
