Thanks for sharing that. Press comment on William Hill US ops this weekend as well so it seems to be getting higher in the consciousness of analysts etc which can only be helpful here

Nice comment from Davy Stockbrokers in Ireland about the US gaming opportunity for Paddy Power this morning:

The Paddy Power Betfair (PPB) investor day in New Jersey reinforced our initial view that the US opportunity is exciting and potentially very valuable for the group. Admittedly, there remain multiple variables to consider (not least the timing of market ramp-up). However, on the basis of a 12-24 state market over time, our analysis suggests that the US could be worth £10-20/share."

Liberum have come up with a 'strange' Form 8.5 RNS which shows they purchased 13,000 shares at 0.050575 GBP and sold 17,032 at 0.0536 GBP on the 1st April.

Unless my maths is up the creek, they bought at 5.0575p and sold at 5.36p. I wish I could get stock so cheaply!!

So a director sells at 51p a few months ago.

Losses widen in the recent results and the board wave rhe white flag and look for offers.

Holders may thus get out of jail, but in the event of no bids this will fall sub 40p having tried and failed to do a deal.

a certain 50p on offer does not seem like a bad deal to get out on.

Indeed. My sense is that even in the instance of the board looking to do a deal within a deal, ie without necessarily putting the general shareholder base in first equal position, the natural momentum of the US market will carry this higher over the next few quarters.The uptick in free cash along with the Winstar JV are fantastic indicators that the business is in a strong position.Also, in consideration of PE - leveraging the free cash of this company wouldn't currently get them anywhere near to a higher valuation so as a cut price deal it wouldn't work. Of course you can skin things in many ways so my observation is hardly definitive.Beyond the Friday announcements I try to retain focus on the fundamental growth story and see only more meaningful progress this year so in my thinking the longer it takes for somebody to come to the table, the more it will necessarily cost.
