O/T, bamboo, any chance you could give an opinion on UBI?
It's touch 49.
A push and it's through 50 and looks ready to run when it happens.

GLA, still holding FDEV, rarely pop-in as position has more than paid for itself so leaving it to do as the market sees fit.

Dinosaurs can be very profitable!

In the presentation DB said they'd announce what the next franchise is alongside the release of JWE - I assume it will be on June 12th at the gaming event, would make sense. Or perhaps he meant a little after JWE was released. My guess is option 1.

True. I hope we find out what the next franchise is soon. Planet Coaster seems to be doing OK, particularly with regular releases of DLC. As for Elite: Dangerous, it seems to me that it needs a bit of a reboot as at the moment the expansions are part of the already available Horizons package which presumably brings in less income than if they were part of a new 'paid for' release.

The market will also be wondering what comes after JWE.
Need a sustainable pipeline of games to maintain this valuation.
Long-term followers of this sector will remember EID and how they squandered having a hit game...

I'm happy with it bumbling along. Ive enjoyed the trading opportunities but think I'll be sitting on my hands from here. In this market perhaps sales are needed and not expectations of them, still 12th of June gets closer by the day : ). Like you I am very optimistic given initial feedback.

I'm surprised that the very positive reaction to the first videos of JWE a couple of weeks ago haven't caused a noticeable increase in the share price. Or, maybe people think it is priced in from the rise on the JWE announcement last summer. Or, those with enough money to invest to cause a noticeable share price change don't go around browsing gaming forums.

I think its worthwhile keeping track of amazon etc to see how things progress as we get closer to launch. It doesn't tell you sales numbers but can be useful to gauge interest levels I think. i.e. Farcry 5 sold 5 million copies week 1 and is at number 1 in the amazon bestsellers charts etc. As CK111 mentioned steam spy is now down. Reading the forums it may not have been that useful anyway pre launch as many steam users wait to check the reviews are good and the game stacks up before buying.

The first link shows you global gaming markets by size - China / US / Japan / Germany / UK etc. Then you can look where the game sits in amazon from the different sites. As I said might not be the most informative exercise but nice to see it in the top 20's in UK and Germany. It only went live on the Amazon US site in last couple of days - was at 200+ now climbing. Germany went as high as 7 yesterday. It should appear on Japan,canada, spain etc in due course.

Surely you mean dinosaurs eating people? I was on the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Orlando at the weekend. It is a very enduring franchise and this game looks great.

Market for fdev does still seem quite disorderly.

There are over 3000 available at 12.30, try again and you’ll be fine!

I bought back half my trading shares. Too early, paid 12.40.

What I’m interesting I’m hearing now is an update on China strategy for the game. The recent stuff dealt with the West. As far as I can tell the film doesn’t have a release date yet I’m china.

Lol. Lower historical support on my daily chart is centred on 1200. Didn't expect it to be tested today.
I'm still hopeful for an update next week. :)

I have been extremely fortunate in my timing in that I sold all my FDEV yesterday at a very small profit, because of wider market concerns. I have got space for more if we get another dip.

GL. I've been thinking about it - there is a large sell for over 7000 shares at 12.40 which has been dragging this down all day. good support between 11.70 - 12 on buy side as you'd expect from the chart.

I don't think we can read much into the position of the game in the sales list to be honest. Just nice that at least some people are pre-ordering. I watch the Steam Top Sellers list and from that can get an idea of what is popular, how well things are selling but even then I have no idea how that list is actually calculated or how many units 22nd place or whatever actually is.

I have only really been interested in game sales since owning FDEV. I think physical sales for the amazon store will be much lower than through the online playstation store. (Margins are higher to FDEV via digital sales and I think many buyers use steam / online stores etc). You can see on amazon where other pre release games sit in the table - some of the large Activision blizzard pre releases make up the top 10 etc.

The important thing for me is the snapshot view providing a little insight that the game has potential to go mainstream. It also provides the opportunity for more people to see it.

Viewers of the you tube footage at the moment are liking the content - as mark said they are 90% positive. Beyond that all we need is some marketing and the weight of the film and we should get some decent results.
