11/7/2019 10:25 | pepsiman1, well obviously FDEV are going to claim they have no plans to move to ED free to play. Just like they claimed they had no plans to move ED to Steam, just before they moved ED to Steam, taking a crippling hit on the margin. And endion, you're talking nonsense. The ED player community has not requested a new microtransaction currency. And has not requested to be prevented from buying extras with cash (which is what FDEV has done) or to be prevented from gifting extras (which is what FDEV have done). On the contrary players have expressed unhappiness that FDEV have prioritised developing this new microtransaction currency over adding gameplay additions promised last year and not delivered, addressing rampant hacking/cheating and fixing the huge number of bugs in the game. | yankhanson
10/7/2019 20:32 | Whats this about free to play nonsense? The new in-game microtransaction currency, called Arx, can be earned in game and used to purchase cosmetic items. The currency can also be bought with real money, so those who simply wish to buy the cosmetics still can. Its a feature heavily requested by the community, and is a good step forward. | endion
10/7/2019 20:08 | Is Elite Dangerous going free-to-play? No, we currently have no plans to change Elite Dangerous over to a free-to-play model. | pepsiman1
10/7/2019 20:07 | Big news thx | nw99
10/7/2019 19:45 | FDEV is switching Elite Dangerous game extras completely to premium in-game currency packs, disallowing direct purchase and gifting hxxps://forums.front A big step towards switching the game to the free-to-play model. Which is probably a good thing seeing how poorly sales want on the recent recent price drop to £5. | yankhanson
10/7/2019 15:07 | This is certainly a bullish signal. | endion
10/7/2019 14:26 | Perfect timing Nw :-). So too have Swedbank. | bullorbear123
10/7/2019 11:44 | Topped up here excellent timing | nw99
10/7/2019 10:38 | Came back here to see what FDEV was doing since I left and I can see that Planet Zoo is 'delivering' for all. May get back in at below £8. Until then this is cloud cuckoo land. GLA | czeck

07/7/2019 09:01 | Elite Dangerous teases fleet carriers and rebrands its premium currency "Frontier also has plans to better onboard new players to Elite. Since the game's launch, new players have been dropped into the open universe of Elite without much tutorialization. A separate training section has always been available to learn the ship controls and combat, but Frontier wants to integrate those lessons into the beginning of the game." | kamitora
26/6/2019 13:23 | YH has a "virtual" knowledge of the gaming industry rather than a "real" knowledge...some would say he lives within his own "virtual reality"! :P It's the Steam summer sale on till the 9th July. JWE and Planet coaster look to be performing really well, featuring on the first few pages of the global and top sellers lists throughout the sale so far. | bullorbear123
26/6/2019 12:29 | Thanks as ever thank for your continued biased reporting. Steam sales are on - of course planet zoo which doesn’t even come out to November isn’t going to be a purchase priority today! | nimbo1
25/6/2019 20:37 | "#FDEV Three entries on the first page of "Top Sellers" on Steam this evening." Only with your heavily-FDEV-biased Steam preferences/filters. On the unfiltered Steam chart, FDEV has nothing in the top 50. Planet Zoo isn't even in the top 500. | yankhanson
25/6/2019 11:46 | #FDEV Three entries on the first page of "Top Sellers" on Steam this evening. 2 x JWE and 1 x full price title in @PlanetZooGame 5 months before release. | nw99
24/6/2019 14:31 | Fair point endion I completely missed the first of the four items Mark listed | shanklin
24/6/2019 14:27 | The main draw is early access to play the game in beta mode. There are plenty of people willing to pay a premium to do that. | endion
24/6/2019 13:33 | Thank you Mark As a non-player that does not sound too exciting. | shanklin
24/6/2019 09:43 | From Steam... "Planet Zoo Deluxe Edition includes the Planet Zoo game plus the following bonus digital content: Exclusive Beta Access Three unique animals: Pygmy Hippopotamus, Thomson’s Gazelle and Komodo Dragon Set of Wallpapers Original Soundtrack by Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen" | mark4231
24/6/2019 09:35 | Anybody any idea please as to the differences between the standard and the deluxe versions? | shanklin
24/6/2019 09:20 | i think that fdev might release planet zoo beta tomorrow 25th or the 2nd or 9th reason i think this is because they have a planet zoo deluxe give a way that ends tomorrow. But just a guess. Also the big banner ad on steam front page | haggishunter
23/6/2019 23:19 | Planet Zoo is the top of page banner on the steam homepage currently. Might explain why there has been an increase in sales again. | endion |
