Standard large buys gone through again after hours following the same pattern as every day for the past week.

I may be seeing too much into this however, the large late buys last night totalled about 60k shares. That matches the amount sold at the end of the day today in three 20k tranches, which then just about matches the amount of shares bought after hours this evening. Which in of itself is 0.15% of the total shares outstanding, matching bennbridges upped short position.

Last year they announced JWE in august. Lets hope they follow a similar pattern this year!

What concerns me about these sorts of dips is not the dip itself, but the inevitable profit taking once again on the rise back up to £18. If it had held at a higher sp, around £14, the profit taking would have been less when getting up to £18 again. Now though, the profit on that rise again could be quite substantial. Lets hope the next news flow creates a strong enough buy environment to overcome any profit takers on the way back up.

Yes, agree market overview from staverly and nimbo.

Touched the 52 week moving average at about 1250 so maybe a bounce from here otherwise support, on any possible shake-out (who knows), would be around the 1100 mark.

Hopefully I will have some cash to allocate on my stake here again soon. Summer, til end September, is usually my buying season in preparation for the ramp-up to the following spring. The risk in this strategy is that the volatility can be a bit worrying!

All stocks need something for investors to think about re the future, especially highly rated growth stocks. Not saying what the next title is and when its expected to be released has put a dent in the markets ability to get excited. Combined with a summer lull and low grade shorting = volatility in the wrong direction. I find the share price annoying but not concerning as the business is doing well.

Following today's fall added a few more. FDEV was my top pick for 2017, and also 2018. So I guess you could say there is/was added emotional risk. Earlier this evening I undertook a more detailed examination, searching for reason(s) of recent share price fall. I am left in no doubt there is one primary issue. Until details of a 4th franchise are confirmed then share price will continue to be vulnerable. When remarking as to its timeliness DB recently used the phrase "in due course"; this suggests status quo as likely to persist at forthcoming FY press release. Were that to be the case share price could still go much lower despite JWE exceeding Y1 expectations. For long term holders this is constellation; those fixated by short term share price movements will have to suffer Mr Market’s worst antics pending confirmation of next franchise. DYOR

And now the large buys are coming in after hours as before. It will push the share price up before opening tomorrow, ready to be sold at higher prices once more, which if they have their way will drop the share price to current levels again. I'm hoping buying pressure will kick in and prevent that from happening this time though.

This is the danger of being on the AIM market, it's more open to manipulation unfortunately. When there are hard numbers given the market will wake up.

Thats the thing, frontier are doing very well at the moment. So tencent have nothing to fear on that front, JWE was very well received and has been a great success thus far.

I would be surprised if they didnt release a statement by then. I expect an update in august if not before. I cant imagine that it will take longer than that to pass a significant unit sale landmark. And in this respect game devs have always been eager to make the annoucement.

But one of the most positive things about FDEV is the fact that Tencent are invested, it's one of the reasons I did.
To my mind when I invested, the fact Tencent had a holding gave the Co. financial credibility (it doesn't matter how good a Co's products are - if they are not rated well on pure financial confidence then I wouldn't invest)
So a lot of folk, me included do see a connection, after all there IS a possibility they could sell to maybe buy something else that is doing better than FDEV right now. Doubtful but possible, imho it would be stupid, but humans are stupid a lot of the time!
Do you think a statement will be issued before September finals?

It could be effecting I suppose, yet Tencents stake is only 9% and as you said such an amount to Tencent is peanuts. Our share price shouldnt be attatched to theirs in anyway at all really.

It really boggles me how twitchy investors are. You'd think if they were invested they would be informed and well researched. Anyone selling at these prices is being taken for a mug (i know people have reasons for selling but still). Im still often at a loss to the skitish and mob mentality prevelant across the market.

I think the reason for todays drop in share price is down to the following report.

Financial Times: Chinese mobile payments giants, Alipay and Tencent, are poised to lose around $1 billion in combined annual revenue to a new central bank requirement that need them to hold all customer funds in reserve.

Tencent holdings have an interest (money invested)in FDEV - but I wouldn't think that they would be selling shares, more like some investors just being scared of the news.

Tencent have a holding yes, but selling it wouldn't change anything for Tencent's problem just too small beer.

I would like to see a statement of some positive nature from management now - ish.

I have never seen such an unjustified fall in share price on the back of positive trading news. Nothing has changed, its only gotten better if anything.

We've seen how rapidly this can rise in the past however so at least we know that when more news is released and the market finally twig that fdev is here to stay we can finally say goodbye to these ridiculously low prices.

Chunky fall today on little volume. Back to support now so I guess we will settle around here. I would expect this to move up soon as we approach the next news item. Would be good to get an update on the next franchise soon as well.

Interesting to know that Nimbo. I'd imagine, aside from betting against the success of JWE (which seems more and more of a stupid idea) that they may be simply trying to benefit from day trading before news is released.

What they can do is sell down throughout the day, buy back after hours, pushing the share price back up, then sell again at the higher prices the following morning. Rinse and Repeat.

Out of interest the fund with a small short position had a similar sized position in KWS from oct 2017 (now closed) - so clearly they have a sector view.

Also jwe has given planet coaster a boost. Pc was selling v well while on sale at 4/5 and is now 26. Higher than we are used to seeing it.

Daft imo shorting one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy. FDEV is very cheap, just not enough people know it yet.

One can only assume that if the film is this popular then JWE will surely follow...
