GeoffT, he makes it clear further down in the article that geopolitcal tensions create upward pressure, but certainly, the summarizing sub-headline is badly worded. I don’t think anyone really knows what the next two weeks will bring - we’d all be multi-millionaires if we did. 🙂

Only a modest couple of days drops in gold, to MXN53300, but rather larger drops in silver, to MXN614. I suspect silver will retest its 200-day which is approaching MXN550, though lack of much fall in gold might suggest otherwise? Remember that both gold and silver's 200-days are hitting records every day and spots are still well ahead of them for now.

FRES 6 month chart. Going by the rising RSI and the MACD I think that the end of October high could tested and soon. We'll see as I'm only guessing.

Still going up. MXN648 and 54,452. Silver's 50-day is now 11.2% above its previous 2020 peak.

$ futures starting to look perky again. DEC28 $36.57 at yesterday's close.

Like last week, silver seems to be leading gold today. MXN silver +3.6%. Gold +1.3%. Both pulling slightly above 50-day averages

Silver and gold still stuck at their now flat 50-day averages ... which is not a bad place to be as 200-days keep setting records. MXN631 and MXN53400.

Silver has eased back to MXN626, back in line with gold's recent sideways pattern. Gold and silver's MXN 50-day averages have turned level, with spots close but just under. They seem to be thinking about what to do next.

It's not much as yet but silver seems to have delinked from gold for a few days, with MXN silver nudging up as gold goes sideways. MXN635 and 63720.
