What's the % tax on the divi |
At $1 dividend the yield on the position I bought at 450p is approximately 17.18% with an unlimited capital gain |
Yes, plenty of upside from the silver price forecast, but I personally will only book that after the event. |
They produce 55m oz silver. A lot of people reckon silver could hit $50. Thats a huge increase to revenue that goes straight to bottom line. Fresnillo could be the best FTSE100 stock of 2025/26.
Who knows, Hochschild could join thm in the FTSE 100 in a few years. |
Updating the 2025 forecasts for gold and silver prices, assuming $2950/oz and $33.5/oz respectively yields combined revenue (at the production midpoint forecast) of $3.39B. That’s $200mn higher than in 2024. We had estimated costs might be $100mn lower due to exchange rate changes. Together with a contribution from net interest, funds allocated to dividends in 2025 might increase by ca $150mn, or 20c per share. That results in a total dividend approaching $1 per share, compared with 74.3c per share in 2024. An increase of about one third. |
When you see £20 on the screen its time to sell half and let the rest run to £50 |
except Fresnillo is 75% owned by Industrias Penoles SAB de CV
It is one of the largest mining corporations in Mexico and a major producer of silver, gold, lead, and zinc. The company was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico.
Peñoles operates various mining and metallurgical facilities throughout the country and is known for owning Fresnillo plc, the world's largest silver producer. It is listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) under the ticker symbol PE&OLES. |
Don't fool yourselves that the Mexican govt and unions are going to su=it back and watch foreign FRS shareholders enjoy a windfall. Thet regard the silver as Mexican, and that Mexicans are entitled to the lion's share of what it sells for. |
Indeed. I'm gutted as it is, having sold a chunk just before Gold, Silver and Fres all smashed through resistance. Banked at just over 32% up but could have had an additional 2% yesterday alone and there is so much more to come plus the dividend. 1000 now looks nailed on before ex div. With new highs for Gold and Silver Fres has along way to run yet. |
Feel for the guy who said FRES is going nowhere when the results came out and sold up..
Sometimes contrarianism doesn’t always pay.. I know these boards can be full of BS and rampant Bulls but the majority on here knew (and know) what was (is) coming..
One of those once in a lifetime opportunities that some have waited a long time for.. |
Fres was 621p on 31-12-24, today 922p
YTD up 48%
2.5 months avg 19.2% per month, not bad for a ftse100 company |
Fres making $1b a year now, on historic P/E of 20 market cap would be $20b or £15.6b share price £21.17p |
Who are these people who doubt the 10 bagger potential? The operational gearing is immense... when silver breaks 60 and the world piles in this will be incredible. |
Silver at $34 and gold at $3000
The average realised silver price in 2024 was US$28.78 and that for gold US$2,453.58, up 21.7% and 25.3% respectively. |
Been out and got back to see silver and gold hit $34.44 and $3005. (So will Dec 28 silver close at a record tonight?)
With prices like these FRES should be hitting $850m+ free cashflow each half year - same as FY2024 (H2 $650m) - though my target for H1/25 remains $750-800m unless we see prices fall away. |
Still MXN681 after a new 5-month high of MXN683 earlier. It still seems to be edging slowly towards its ATH. Same with gold which is MXN59,939 after MXN60,186 earlier.
With gold hitting $2995 again this morning, this is getting interesting. |
Dec 28 contract closed at $38.39. It's only ever closed above this once, at $38.93 on 22/10/24.
Spot closed at MXN681, comfortably a new 5 month high, after rising 1.6% on the day, and now only just over 2% off its record.
Gold +1.3% to MXN60,041, about 0.5% shy of the record, but we do have a new record of $2990. |
Why tariff threats are pushing up gold: |
it is ironic that UK solid gold miners are moving very slow while some explorers in Canada can really move up fast! This is Southern Silver [big silver resource but an explorer]
there are a number of these that i hold (i'm a gold/silver specialist) - if silver keeps going up companies like this will go bombastic. Silver has been held down for so long that many smaller companies can't extract it profitably unlike Fres |
Super bullish year for precious miners, annoyingly there’s only theee decent uk listed, hence why I checked out USA / Canada listed I suspect also crypto traders are swapping and investing on gold and silver |
Gold trying for $3k - $2986. +2.4%. |
sentiment is so much anti-miners still...
case in point i bought the GDXJ a few years ago and it just turned positive lol
this after the gold price is up some 40% from that time at least!
All the net zero and woke rubbish first have to be exposed for what it is - a scam!
The crown still hasn't even started buying gold miners - just wait until things heat up!
Oil prices down, gold up, silver up is super bullish for miners. |
Actually, I had not spotted that USD silver closed at a 5-month high yesterday (I have quite a few on here filtered for excessive repetition or bad language) so MXN doing so today should be no surprise. The October peak now looks a likely target for both. |
Dip my toes in American listed silver miner first majestic, another monster in the making. Imo I think Americans like trading on stock than Uk investors. This fres is defo heading 950p and 1000p beyond especially silver is now breaking out |
Interesting pattern, Aleman? |
