Strange he said nothing here.

=====================================

This should help,

UK retail sales grew by 6.9% in April compared with the same month a year earlier, new figures show, making it the strongest annual rise in ten years.

Quarterly retail sales have now grown for 14 months in a row, the ONS added.

=====================================

And this,

Burberry, the UK luxury fashion brand, has announced a jump in annual profits and revenue.

Adjusted pre-tax profit for the year to the end of March was £461m, up 8% on the £428m the company posted a year ago. Revenue rose by 17% to £2.33bn.

Looks like French Connection are getting serious with their men's clothing:

In contrast to fccn's outlook, Nordstrom has reported US sales figures well ahead of forecast leading to a pop in their share price They stock a significant amount of French Connection product which leads me to think that we could see our US outlook revised up at some point in the coming months.

I had a feeling that the gap around 80 on the way up might need filling. Hopefully we'll do it properly this time.

I'm surprised Paul [Scott] hasn't made an appearance.

Investors Chronicle chose to focus on the marginal US business rather than the core UK/Europe business. I wonder if they have put in a short whilst they review their recommendation?

However what we are seeing is a solid turnaround. Without the mid-season sale margins are clearly going to be higher. And what we want to see is a profitable company. Im confident French Connection is heading in that direction. I just hope all the city scribblers aren't playing games with this share.

With the markets as they are, taken some profit but feel this still has a long way to go. Lfl up without discounting during Easter can't be bad.

Numis have increased their target price to 105p and Cantor Fitzgerald have raised their target price to 80p.

Brokers seem to like the trading statement.

No mid-season sale and lfl is up 9%. Theyre doing something right here and as a company they are on the up.
