Time for the volsung to enter the fray here I think (note I didn't use the word 'methinks' which I think sounds a bit medieval)

MM's seem to be moving the bid price up quite strongly this morning and so there clearly is not much stock around and I wonder if an order is being worked in the background. Hopefully it is a positive sign and the share price can have its' traditional new year run.

Ta.

I tend to think good news travel fast but perhaps I'll be wrong.

Good luck

CR...last 3 years trading statement dates have been 16/01/13, 03/02/12 and 04/02/11 so it's not unsually late this year. Final results then due in mid-March.

Pity about all the doom and gloom here as otherwise the chart presents a potentially nice buying point here imv

Have FCCN given up doing trading statements then?

They have to put out an IMS soon.

Looks like we are going to have to wait a little longer for the trading statement. Early next week hopefully.

They are sold out of all the clothes that I was looking at buying online, so I guess that was a good sign....

I visited the Meadowhall branch of Fccn before Xmas and staff also said that they were busy.I saw nothing to suspect that this was not the case.Equally importantly my 29 year old daughter who lives in London visited the Kings Road store in the New Year and was"impressed" by the Spring ranges.Anecdotal evidence only and make of it what you will.

Gary, I was informed just before Xmas, that retail like for like y / y was up 13.7%,

then came the after Xams figures from Debs, M & S, Morrisons Tesco, all appalling, (which then led me to believe that the 13.7% was a load of tosh)

however there's still a raft of On Liners that haven't reported, FDL for one with Express Gift.

If the On Liners can get anywhere near ASOS then it maybe that spend was up that much (13.7%)

sorry it's not much use for FCCN as I ain;t got a clue about footfall or On Line, other than a few "mystery shopper" calls I put into North East branches, lol, they said they'd been "busy", (can't quantify "busy" tho, lol)

so in response to your post, YES people were out spending.

Well ASOS had a cracking Xmas period and so it goes to show people were spending. Hopefully a lot came in our direction.

Update in the next week or so meanwhile the share chart looks great! LOL

Frankly, I don't care as I am hanging on in any case and depending on the IMS I may actually wade in for more but it does depend!

I think the comparison with Debenhams is a bit out of touch as DEB have walked right into this profits warning today. They have been selling aggressively at discount prices since early November and even prior to that they were undercutting other high St stores such as House of Fraser.

It has come back to haunt them while other companies have been vindicated.
