will do me ol'bamboo ;)

That was of some use though as it is a reminder now that CR is back on his FCCN thread not to pay to much attention to his predictions.

Mr bluesky, what are you hoping to achieve by focussing on someones mistakes? The majority here will have got things wrong from time to time, and this is a natural part of the learning process. Move on, stop wasting yours and others' time.

Here is his exact quote when FCCN was c.130p......opps!

I think this looks like one of the most exciting turnaround plays I've seen in some time. Sales will not need to rise as much as in the past to generate profits as license fees are nearly 100% profit. Overheads can be kept down by doing more wholesale and reducing the need for expensive high street stores and selling through Asos looks evermore exciting as they are now selling into the US. Stephen Marks ran these for a couple of decades and they were a great performer, you don't lose that skill or know how overnight imo

True bamboo2 - not changed my stance having sold due to past recent failure and hot/cold statements.

The volume recently, the new FD and the bid rumours that Ashley is looking to buy are all positives along with the small share buy by the FD. But for me Marks is the issue here. He's refused to bite the bullet and close stores or refurb.

I'm sure you could literally close some of these stores and leave them boarded up just to cut overheads and losses but he seems to think things will magically change. Perhaps they will but I think it stands a far greater chance if Marks walks.

Will watch the trading update with interest tho.

Another takeover rumour this weekend?Friday buying is suggestive that something might be reported this weekend or we are going to get tipped.

I think the city finally now wants this to go up.

The Financial Director acted very swiftly after his employment began on 12th August so he would need to be a pretty thick FD to purchase those shares at 37.5p only several weeks before the Interim Management Statement if it was going to be bad!

A very good indicator in my view.

One could take the view that Castleton's purchase was minimal and maybe tongue in cheek with a view to supporting the share price. However I do believe that a gradual recovery is taking place and that new invesstors will make money in due course.Certainly having spoken to staff in one of their major outlets today I heard reassuring noises. In my opinion the company has intriguing possibilities of which the international sales network must offer attractions to any company wishing to bulk up its international reach. The wording of the next item of newsflow should give some clues as to what really is happening.
