It could be Charlie9038 - The brick business is heavily reliant on gas to keep kilns heated 24/7. The price of bricks will no doubt increase substantially going forward

More importantly will the gas be available for our new £95 million brick factory at Desford??

Thinking the rising costs of energy, specially gas, is starting to affect this.

With the four years of losses, the purchase price and decommissioning costs for Swadlincote this has been an expensive acquisition for Forterra. The half year results are not great for Forterra precast business and as you say the market has grown………Forterra core business is clearly brick which is what they should focus on.

Trump, If that's the case I'm surprised not a good return especially as the market has grown in 4 years, anyhow the share price was not affected today.

It’s a good time to purchase if you have the funds available. There was a recent flash sale at the Swadlincote works with lots of assets being sold at auction. This paves the way for the land and buildings to be sold in the not to distant future . It was purchased for £20million in 2017.
