It’s a good time to purchase if you have the funds available. There was a recent flash sale at the Swadlincote works with lots of assets being sold at auction. This paves the way for the land and buildings to be sold in the not to distant future . It was purchased for £20million in 2017.

Oh, not that tiresome list of tripe again. Please, this thread is a discussion about Forterra and its business, and the real world it inhabits.

Agree 300p plus is very possible near term, though think it could much higher in time when new factory is up and running and economy eventually booms again with covid a distant memory.

I got lucky added a few at £1.515 in March, but the absolute bargain was surprisingly in September when there was a chance to add at £1.415.

My average price is still around £2, so I am sure damanko has a lower entry point, but really it is all irrelevant history. I originally bought down at 220p+ on Brexit concerns, because the company business is simple, solid and with great prospects with the housing shortage. That logic hold true after a great resilience through the pandemic, and £3 would be an absolute minimum ytarget price for me...

Bonjour encore Thrump.

Retain half my holding from 2016, well in profit of course, and, given the recent results the company seems to be coping with what I call 'the lost year' quite well, unlike many other pure manufacturing outfits. I won't be selling the rest anytime soon, the reasons I invested some 5 years ago are as relevant as ever. I only sold half as I felt the share price had got a little toppy in 2019. And it's now again definitely heading in the right direction.

I wonder sometimes how many private investors last year, when the share price hovered around the £1.60 mark thought things had bottomed out, and took a punt? That's even less than I originally paid...

Slightly OT, are you in France? I've been unable to visit my place in Brittany since January last year.

Regards and stay well.

d.

Be nice to see this back over 300p, good recovery play. Well run and using past money raised to grow and scale the business. Always vulnerable to housing market sentiment but a safer way to play that trend than house builders themselves and our love with houses is never going away.

But the profit taking has landed us back where we started. That is a bit of an over-pullback. I wonder if the reality of the UK's dire finances is hitting investor confidence in the government's grandiose growth plans for infrastructure and perhaps even housing...

Read across to Ibstock (IBST) - market a bit slow on the uptake, so an opportunity there which I have taken.
