how much of their business relies on postage from Jersey?

What is funny is that Jersey Post have been retailing against local business for years(cards/souveniers/stationery etc and even recently they have encouraged local shoppers to buy from Argos so they can ship it in). In addition they have set up in the phone market, but this is the funny thing - the Jersey competition regulator is now to allow competition to the State owned business that has been seeking to destroy local businesses for years, and they are up in arms about it as it will mean making the overpaid postal workers redundant. Serves them right. Still it will take time before anyone is able to offer competition, hence the increase costs for all local on-line retailers this.

well spotted

The cost of posting a parcel will be determined by size as well as weight from 8 May
NEW postal prices that will see some parcels increase in cost by 27% have been approved by the competition regulator.

Big postal rates rise in Jersey may be the reason the stock is being hit.

Fortunately I have loads of each of the above - all hitting big new recent highs :-) I'f I'd listened to you and Lowry-chimp I'd be skint!

Good time to buy when the share price is wrong - if the shareprice was always right nobody would make money.

Debenhams share price said different a few weeks ago.

Garden Centre overflowing today.

Share price says different. You only have to look at retail shops almost permanent sales. Everyone is slashing prices reduced prices means less profits.

I brougt Investors Chronicle this morning and read the Share mag article on fbdu while in the shop.

Share mag have a buy rating at 70p and are very bullish. As well as continued recovery they say that a possibility is that Sir Tom Hunter whos takeover approach was rejected in November 2008, may bid again now that fbdu are on a firmer footing. His investment vehicle (West coast) still owns 29.9% I believe.
(I wouldn't disagree)

Investors Chonicle have the headline (Turnaround at Flying Brands) Sorry I'm not going to write the whole article because on the laptop this week and hate using the keyboard, but the sentiment is positive, and they acknowledge the progress that has been achieved and sum up as follows.

"The UK flower delivery market is worth an estimated £500m a year and management is putting the business on a firmer footing. So while the shares are worth keeping an eye on, they're fairly priced."

i can only assume that you have more than your usual £5k's worth to shift?

I just checked on Feefo and pleased to see that the Gardening Division is now doing a roaring trade, with Geranium Mix selling extremely well. And still at 99%/98% positive feedback, which means they are well prepared to meet demand.

Flying brands are indeed ready to bloom.

LoL!

What about the redesign of theflowers business? Same day now offered.

The garden business is by far and away the bulk of the business - of course it would be a bit quieter during Jan and early Feb - snow and ice slowed a load of businesses. Just in the same way if we have a real sunny easter then garden sales will be way higher - oh, but then there won't be enough daffodils to supply demand will there Lowry - tool!
