11/3/2010 07:56 | expanding growth of business rather than standing still paying divs> Is that not what all the high tech cos do ?????? | s34icknote
11/3/2010 07:48 | Re:cash - on the one hand nearly £1.7m was raised from a private placement helping the debt reduction (ie the figures above are not as dramatically good as first appear), and on the other the company has not renewed an overdraft facility indicating their confidence in cash flows going forward. Overall seems a reasonable report in the circumstances - people seem to be making a lot about the gardening slow start but remember the weather. | joe say
11/3/2010 07:42 | Codswallop. They will do eps of 12p+ this coming year after these results. fwd PE just 6 and no debt. Flowers restructured - Valentines got off to a cracking start despite the codswallop you posted here about flowers not selling because Valentines fell on a Sunday lololol! CR | cockneyrebel
11/3/2010 07:32 | Pe not low investors look to the future and the co is not paying a dividen so they cant be that confident of the future. | ls lowry
11/3/2010 07:32 | Overall not a bad report "I am pleased to report that the Group has made good progress in 2009 towards its aim of sustainable profitable growth. Our cost reduction and operational efficiency programme, started in the year, is now well underway and we are confident that the benefits of this, which began to be seen in 2009, will continue in 2010. I am also pleased to report the Group ended the year with a stronger balance sheet and net cash of GBP2.0m. | pmeldrum
11/3/2010 07:25 | but finished with net cash of £2m and pe low already ! | s34icknote
11/3/2010 07:24 | No dividend and warning... "The gardening sector as a whole has, we believe, had a difficult start to the year largely brought about by the bad weather to date. Sales so far this year have been behind management expectations but it is still very early in the season" | ls lowry
10/3/2010 18:41 | that would be lovely! | gswredland

06/3/2010 20:28 | With the small cap sector treading water since last September/October, March will be a pivital month with results driving the future prices. I live in France so one benefit is that I get up at 08:00am to read all the RNS each day, but I'm coming back to the UK next Friday for two weeks. So 07:00am starts for my holiday, not great timing. | interceptor2
06/3/2010 12:15 | yep, loads of companies with results in March - seems March and Sep are the most busy months, I suspect as many co's start their financial year at April 1 like the tax year. A busy month with a lot to read at 7am over the next few weeks :-( CR | cockneyrebel
05/3/2010 20:32 | Totally agree aim11, I have holding in 7 companies that have final results this month, but FBDU are the ones I'm most excited about. As well as good figures I think the current trading and outlook will be very bullish, and if we are right 100p will be passed soon after. | interceptor2
05/3/2010 18:51 | results are going to be extremely good and well ahead of consensus i reckon...100p here we come i hope! dyor as ever | aim11
05/3/2010 10:09 | Results next Thursday | pmeldrum
22/2/2010 13:53 | I sent flowers to my Auntie for her birthday, just received a phone call to say she is very happy with the flowers and service. I'm amazed they got to her on time because I left the flat number off the address (plonker!) but the postman recognized the name fortunately. | interceptor2
22/2/2010 07:42 | i2 Although RNSes in previous years would suggest that FBDU previously considered Valentines Day to be important to them, I understand that the tax concessions they received before the move to the UK meant they were focused on the bottom end price-wise of this market. Clearly their efforts this time were across the price-range and so hopefully should have generated far more revenue overall. On a personal note, MrsS reckons that for out-of-season roses, the ones I got her through FF for VD, have lasted very well. Cheers, Martin | shanklin |
