From StockMarketWire.com

Low cost airline Wizz Air has signed an agreement to buy 146 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. They will be used to replace existing fleet and also to facilitate expansion plans and deliver growth over the next decade.

The current list price for the 146 aircraft is in excess of $17.2bn. Wizz Air said it had been granted 'significant discounts' by Airbus.

Given the size of the deal, shareholders will be called to vote on the investment at a general meeting to be held in due course.

A very pro-active move. What pro-active initiatives are Flybe taking, or are they just completely off the radar?

I love this particular stock and have followed in reasonably carefully for some time now, love the service too but whether it's going to be a growth stock anytime soon, well, your guess is as good as mine.

Shame really, I use Flybe a lot and they're ok, no frills but efficient service. Trouble is, everytime I think they're at the bottom, some new 'cost' crops up.

Good airline to use, bargepole stock to own.

Those who speak aeronautical French will know what I mean....

I've kept half my stake in this disaster story.
Patience required for exactly the reasons listed by wanttowin.

Thanks europa and steps.

aileron..I never referred to conspiracies and your comment of 'outlook and routes all stink' is just not true. Many routes are proving fruitful.

@D1NGA agreed. The Shetland route was a bit of a liability imo. Lots of empty seats/ weather related issues which very frequently grounded the planes / caused them to re-route ect.

I flew from abz to ncl yesterday and it cost my co. £222 I have been called back this evening and its costing them another £222 , I think the routes they're in with eastern will pay off quickly , dropping the shetland route is the right thing to do and I'm pleased they recognised the need to do so quite early and didnt get into an extended price war with logannair

MM conspiracies are a dime a dozen. This company's share price , outlook and routes all stink.

The market clearly has no enthusiasm for Flybe.
I think we need to give Christine a little more time, she has barely been in the role a year, and she was left legacies by Hammad to be fair.
Only a month ago we were told how plans are underway to get rid of non profit routes. Cost improvements are ongoing and an agenda to reduce fleet size by a sizeable 15% over 3 years. The planes being handed back now are a big saver.
Group revenue was actually up on the previous year,as was passenger volume.
The IT hit was a one off and the new system will surely increase sales and marketing opportunities.Forward sales as of 5th Nov were already encouraging.
The excess maintenance costs are being addressed and I'm sure Andrew Milne will get that sorted.
All just my opinion I think share price here is undervalued and this is an opportunity. I will be adding if it gets to 30p. I still like this company but agree it has tested the patience.
The mm's would love you to sell down here is my honest opinion.

Rumour has it ( actually from the "Shetland times" but this paper can't always be trusted ) that from the 8th of Jan 18 Flybe are pulling out of Shetland. This is obv bad news for the local community who rely on the service and anyone who has a booking after the 8th will be fully refunded. I just thought is post as I follow the company with interest and hope to one day take a position here.

This company is going nowhere but down just like the share price. Holding onto your shares 'hoping' for a recovery by looking at the chart or otherwise is a mugs game.

I hold a few of these on recovery hopes, but this has been a dog for sure

gotta hope that 31p holds and can stand as a "double bottom" with early June - from a chartist point of view, anyway....

From Skyscanner :-

Sumburgh to Edinburgh

"The most popular airline flying from Sumburgh to Edinburgh last month was Flybe"
Sumburgh to Edinburgh is 292 miles
£179 was the cheapest return price from Sumburgh to Edinburgh last month
2 airlines fly direct from Sumburgh to Edinburgh
The average flight time from Sumburgh to Edinburgh is 1h
There are 21 flights a week from Sumburgh to Edinburgh.

So if the route does fail it wont be from too much competition.

Looks like they are repeating the same problem by adding new unprofitable route, take for example Sumburgh LSI)‬ to Aberdeen ‭(plains are flying empty just tried to book a flight for today and all seats are still available

You have to ask yourself why Hoskins are still buyers when they already have 30 million shares. They obviously don't need the money for xmas. The patient will be rewarded imo.
