Almost always weather related as the the weather here can turn in the blink of an eye. Often causing planes coming in to have to turn around and reroute. Recently Flying out has become far more popular as ferry fares have increased making Flybe and Logan air a much more viable option..

Is that not related to the weather and the fact that the planes have to land on the beach at Barra FN84

Long term holder on here (topping up too at lower levels) and good to see confidence coming back.

Good article CT. Thanks for posting.
Sad to see demise of any company, I had a lot of time for Monarch and they employed a lot of good people.
However, I can only see their demise having a positive impact on turnover and margins here

305020...agreed re air of confidence now about Flybe, and the CEO is getting herself about.A code share is a situation where another airline provides through ticketing to the ultimate destination, including bags, making for seamless travel. In return the providing airline gets a commission of c 2-9% of the ultimate ticket price. In the case of Air Berlin I don't think it will be in any way material to Flybe, and I think the arrangement dates from the previous CEO who was I recall a non Exec of Air Berlin in the past, so it may have been a bit of a vanity project

3 things strike me about that interview - 2 positive and 1 not so.

1 - the fact the CEO is talking about capacity increases next summer when Simon laffin has spent the last 5 years trying to reduce capacity shows they must be in confident mood and performing well

2 - less positive.. what is a "code share" and thus what is the likely impact on them re Air Berlin collapse earlier in the year?

3 - I think just the fact she gave an interview at all shows that they want to be seen and be heard.... that is a change in confidence from previous years and I think speaks volumes for how their recovery is doing. as indded did the interim CFO taking a full time position with them.

I think H1 numbers will give the next boost.

I've bought more on this good news.

All IMHO, DYOR + BoL
FLYB is in my top5 hldgs

How can the MM's push this down 1.75 with that balance of buys/sells? Always seems to fall into the closing. Mmmm

A lot are AT trades which is of course a buy and a sell. Still feels like there is an overhang here though. Hopefully it will clear shortly before some stellar H1 numbers and this will soar/take-off/see blue skies/*insert your own airline-based pun in here.

So out of 469000 shares traded today, only 4000 are recorded as sells - Thats a buy/sell ratio of 100/1...
and we are RED!

Go figure....
