Whoosh!
If FT are doing well in the US then a buyout must be on the horizon. IMHO

Do you expect a bidder for this?
who though?

Better sit tight then.

Currently there are only 6 sell-side houses that write research (not aware of any sponsored research), all of them tier 2/3 houses, or worse. Surprising for a 2bn m/cap business. Britvic has 21 according to their website! Hard not to imagine that a tier one brokerage will initiate shortly. Then it's lift off time ... again!

bamboo - the agm and no doubt a trading update are on Monday which may determine future direction of travel? of course if there is leakage you may be right and activity on Friday would be an indicator of what is about to come!!!

DD, fwiw, I have no idea how long you plan to hold for, but I use three basic methods to plan purchases, mainly for trading or the medium term.

I am a fan of averaging in and out of holdings. Breaking up into 2/3/4 lots makes a lot of sense, in terms of stop loss setting etc

Chart patterns, resistance, support, indicators, etc, suggest buying and selling targets.

Converging trendlines result in wedges and triangles. The apex of these shapes often present a turning point in the price. This can occur even after the price has moved out of the triangle.

FEVR has two potential apexes on Monday 15 May. This suggests to me that it is worth closely watching the price action in the preceding sessions. I'll try to judge this direction on Friday afternoon, and act accordingly.

sogoesit & TBFThanks, undecided.....more inclined to wait and hope for a pullback/profit taking (no offence holders!).staverlyHardly insider trading asking for opinions, every trading update as either been "materially ahead" or "comfortably ahead", so take your pick :)DD

DD4: that's insider trading!
TBF: what do you mean by "faultless" ... bearing in mind the sell side scribes are currently projecting FY17 revenue growth of around 20% (FY16 73% with FX helping hand, though whatever + effect was unwound to the tune of nearly £2m in cash profit, so FY16 FX impact was more complex than might first appear, so what's new. "Faultless" ...

Any re-trace would look like 1600p on my charts, near term.

In terms of fundamentals, on 20 March, prior to results, the close was 1457p implying an actual P/E of 60 for the 21st March results. The intra-day low near term thereafter was 1349p so a "discount" of 7.5%.
We're approaching the half-year now so we should be expecting revenue of somewhere near £75 million in line with 50% growth giving a an EPS of 17.5p for the half year. Doubling that for an equivalent full year gives 35p. At a P/E of 60 gives £21 for the full year.
On that basis, I wouldn't expect a pull-back, depending how close we get to £21.
But, if growth is slowing then the implied P/E could drop to .... whatever your guess is.
Brokers forecasts are currently for 10% pa annum growth from last year so don't help much in any scenario here.
Conclusion: it's a bet ;-) Upside £21 or down to support at £16 in guessing the numbers.

The trading update has to be faultless to justify the rating. However the likelihood is it will be. I bailed at about £10 expecting a retrace but it never happened and I never did buy back as the price got away.

Can we all go home early at 1700 or must we stay at the party?

My last target was about 1650p if I recall properly but, looking towards end year 2017, we could see EPS at 40p if there's outperformance on growth (that's £145 million gross revenue).
Priced at P/E 50 that's £20, I guess.
At P/E 45 that's £18.
So, end year over £20 looks reasonably (?) manageable and stay at the party to keep the drinks flowing must be the answer.
Good luck

Unfortunately I wasn't able to celebrate much today as the Madagascan Cola was sold out in Sainsbury.
I was forced to buy the Ginger Ale and, with a slice of lemon & ice, it's pretty nice.

...Shore Capital turned cautious....

...Fever-tree offers strong growth potential from an expansion into the dark spirits market.. valuation of more than 60 times earnings... falling to 30 times after 10 years...looks difficult to justify, said Shore.
