Brilliant post Ragnarr.

The problem when you read the article, there are several similarities to Bleepa. I was thinking some clarification was needed when even I was confused. Then I realised it's easy these days to confuse me but more importantly I missed yesterday's tweet which included this link to the November article probably posted earlier on this thread:

I still wish FDBK would officially acknowledge that the two products compliment each other.

When I posted the link I saw it as positive not negative. Ged is right (imo) in that Bleepa is complimentary to Sectra PACs system and the simple fact that Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust deployed Sectra PACs back in Oct 2020 when they had already been using Bleepa for the best part of a year and are still doing so, clearly shows there is a need for both.

The Sectra PACS system cloud solution is not a mobile communication tool at all.

Here is a demo of the image exchange portal

In July 2021 (9 months after Sectra was installed) Dr Georges Ng Man Kwong CCIO at Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust stated when referring to their use of Bleepa said his staff were so used to using messaging apps in their everyday lives that they could not be expected to rely of desktop computers alone

“Our frontline staff are so digitally enabled now that they expect to be working in a mobile way, they are really keen to embed this in their workflow to make life easy. We have to support that and find a robust solution for them,”

So it is clear the Bleepa and Sectra have been working in a complimentary way for the past year or so.

From what I can see nothing within the Sectra suite of products provides this mobile messaging, imaging solution. The nearest they have is Uniview

But this is simply a desktop/ipad imaging viewer (not geared for mobile phone resolution) and has no two way messaging/communication capability. You could also argue that it does not comply with UK imaging requirements as it is not CE/UKCA accredited.

So all in all for me I see this as good news. The article states that this recent contract with Sectra was signed in second quarter of the fiscal year 2021/2022 so Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Trust would not bother to trial Bleepa if Sectra had a solution.

So the fact that there is a proven working relationship for the Pennines Trust can surely only be good news for the permanent roll out of Bleepa in the South.

If you remember, Sectra has been discussed before and I've had two emails from October 2020 and January 2021 that explained that Bleepa and Sectra are complimentary.

This article reads to me that Sectra has developed further and is competition, in fact I was looking for the words 'in conjunction with Bleepa'.

I've now asked for clarification for the third time.

Looks like the imaging system already has cross-site accessibility and patient journeys built in - which when you think about it, is a pretty obvious thing to be built in by a business that specialises in imaging and cyber security.

Quite where that leaves Bleepa is anyone's guess.

Thanks Ragnarr,LR2.

The NHS is due to receive total capital resources of £23.8 billion in 2022/3 with £2.1 billion allocated for the innovative use of technology and £2.3 billion to fund diagnostic services.

ON THE RECORD

NHS chief executive, Amanda Pritchard, said: “Building on the excellent progress seen during 2021/22, this means significantly increasing the number of people we can diagnose, treat and care for in a timely way. This will depend on us doing things differently, accelerating partnership working through ICSs to make the most effective use of the resources available to us across health and social care, and ensure reducing inequalities in access is embedded in our approach.”

Thanks for link LR2, I liked this bit:-

Meanwhile in secondary care, a key priority is developing digitally connected imaging capacities and ensuring sites have a minimum of two CT scanners.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said an FTA would take the country's historic partnership with India to the next level, and highlighted Scotch whisky, financial services and cutting-edge renewable technology among some of the key sectors set to benefit

Only just came across this band. Spot the young Professor Brian Cox who was on keyboards (1986 - 1992). Hope nobody minds me posting this. I've just bought a couple of their albums on Amazon. Amazing and can't believe I've never heard of them before.
Lo siento for off topic.

Thanks Digger.

Trevor had a dating site. I wonder if that's his site, considering his love for FDBK ;))
