05/6/2007 08:39 | What do you think this means for the Merial option? Copuld there be additional payments in a few years time? | andypace
05/6/2007 07:45 | Yes looks like some people are taking big pay-offs somewhere down the line. Disappointing result really. Still bought at 18p and 21.3p back over the next 12 months that gives a return of 18% | hugepants
05/6/2007 07:03 | mergers and reverse takeovers? how about someone buying the company. I still think someone will come in with a bid better than 21.3p per share(approx!). At that value is you are paying nothing for the company! Mad3it it will be interesting to see what the directors get out of this (and the other consultants etc!) | pugg1ey
05/6/2007 06:04 | Does that mean that the directors are giving themselves a generous payoff ? | mad3it
09/5/2007 10:23 | These things can drag on a while unfortunately. PIX took 5 months or so to announce a sale. Hopefully it wont be as long here. Ive got quite a lot of cash tied up in EVC now. Another couple that may be worth looking at are BEK with share price of 5.75p and cash and bonds worth 16p, and Asterand (ATD) which is another biotech, market cap £5M and cash of £4M. | hugepants
08/5/2007 11:54 | seems more and more people taking a punt here. News soon hopefully | pugg1ey
02/5/2007 14:44 | SP hasn't moved. MM's playing pass the parcel? | pugg1ey
02/5/2007 14:33 | what's going on here then suddenly the trades in this stock have come alive, all these 100,000 and 50,000 buys going through in the afternoon. maybe something is finally imminent on the strategic options, any thoughts anybody? | indian3
26/4/2007 14:56 | hugepants that sounds feasible and realistic, it could be 30 plus depending on whether a drug company wants the existing compound with a current cash value, the statement in March indicated serveral different approaches, so alot of options open. And as you said worse case scenario would be return of cash, which surely has to be more than the current price of 18p. | indian3
26/4/2007 13:55 | Its quite difficult to see how you can lose at this price. The directors only hold 2%-3% so the major shareholders must have had enough. Similar in a way to Adamind. They either want the business sold or cash returned. I think a sale will realise the most value. Over 30p cash at end of December and Id imagine costs have been cut to a minimum now. So Id hope for an exit at 25p and above. | hugepants
16/4/2007 19:09 | I agree puggley,if it was a case of just dishing out the cash that would have happened by now. I think a deal is being done. I also note that since the end of the tax year there have been no selling. | landmark4
16/4/2007 14:03 | Puggley keep faith, i think you are right on your former opinion, yes there should be news shortly, this has been going on for a few months now and from what i have heard something will be announced fairly soon. | indian3
16/4/2007 12:12 | This is probably me being a reallly naive PI but I have just added another 15K at 18.2p. I am getting quotes to sell 50K which is unheard of regarding EVC in my lifetime! Perhaps a deal is near and someone wants stock? (or probably I'll get shafted with a load of illiquid shares!) he who dares wins! | pugg1ey
12/4/2007 13:24 | Also, there is the "leverage effect". It is well know than a number of folks will be selling around the end of the tax year for CGT reasons. Therefore, some folks who don't have to sell for CGT themseves nevertheless anticipate this and sell in the expectation of being able to buy back cheaper. Of course, there's a bit of self-fulfilling prophecy about the effect of the latter type of selling, but the effect is real enough. | wiganer
12/4/2007 13:20 | to offset my CGT | pugg1ey
12/4/2007 13:17 | doesn't take many sells in an illiquid share like this to make the share price fall substantially. I for one sold and bought back in at the end of the last tax year :-) | pugg1ey
12/4/2007 12:19 | And you know this fact how exactly? | wiganer
12/4/2007 12:08 | CGT relief? waht a c r a p! not many private investors go above the limit. | tiborinvest
10/4/2007 11:39 | Also, don't forget the impact of end of tax year selling recently. I suspect some folks who had held from much higher prices couldn't resist the chance to make a bit back via CGT relief. | wiganer
10/4/2007 08:54 | upside 35-40p. downside around 22p (cash value-costs). Reason share price not higher is how long you will have to wait for a deal (or not) to be done hence I guess people think there are better short term bets elsewhere. | pugg1ey
04/4/2007 18:42 | hello people. Looking forward to next week and beyond after everyones dumped their holdings to offset their losses against cgt. not long to go imo till some sort of deal announced. only can be positive with share price at current levels. :-) | pugg1ey
21/3/2007 12:59 | My guess is KBC is dumping their entire holding hence quite easy to buy at the moment, 50K on-line. | pugg1ey
19/3/2007 15:57 | well judging by that T trade something maybe happening. You can also sell a lot more on-line. | pugg1ey |
