SmartNICs take center stage

The latest wireless networks use virtualized RAN (vRAN) and cloud RAN architectures based on standard servers with smartNIC acceleration. The move to open RAN solutions will drive further demand for smartNICs in this application.

At some point this is going to explode north, imo.All the signs are there.Mass deployment of 5G starts this yearENET hiring substantial, for their size, nee staff3 Tier 1 server vendors last month approached ENET to provide a DU solution5G investment accelerated due to success in growth plansJoin up the dots!At a market cap of £14m that's one helluva lot of tech and near term potential.Current valuation is roughly the same as a nod and a wink from one of these SPACs, aka cash shells with not much cash but a lot of 'promise'.GLA

Only 901 shares exchanged hands so far today according to IG. Either yesterday was just a flash in the pan or traders/investors are watching to see who blinks first!

Think it's just a few impatient sellers in an illiquid market, that's about it, imo.

Disappointed with the share price movement. Hope it isn't negative news that has leaked or made privvy to insiders. All we can do is wait, for new contract announcements and trading updates.

Yes, looks like a few impatient sellers.Nothings changed other than the market cap is now stupid and we're closer to mass deployment.

MMs love saying "thank you" to buyers by dropping the offer!!

No offence to LSE contributors but to me the conversation has sounded more and more desperate over the last few weeks. In fairness I tend to skim through the (long) threads so perhaps I am jumping over the balancing commentary.

Anyway, I found the story below interesting regarding Nokia's efforts to right their 5G ship and their shift from FPGA's to ASICs as IC of choice.

hxxps://www.lightreading.com/5g/nokia-is-pulling-up-its-5g-socs/d/d-id/768257?

I think the industry is still underestimating the change cadence requirement of SD-WAN, NFV and virtual RAN and when the penny drops those OEMs and integrators that select FPGAs will be ahead of the pack.

Just one of those disappointing days.

It looks to still be on the uptrend line at least.

Very funny. Rayj1. —— wrong day, no movement at all today.

Most in this share are giving it a year. 9 more months to go. Ill sell if no news by then.

Although we have had the DU news with three Tier 1 server vendors. Ok, not a contract yet but nevertheless not too shabby and only last month, I think.

Yes he's got some serious firepower does dallo. He's right though, this needs news - getting on for 4 months now without anything to digest with regard to contracts / revenues / collaborations. This is a lifetime on AIM and I'm surprised it hasn't dropped back into the 20's to be honest. Large news gaps is when the doubts creep in (but also a good time to buy if you have conviction)

ps, I note 'dallo' , who was holding 1.8m according to ENET site, has added a further 100,000 @32.5p today.

That's a goodly number escapetohome All the industry evidence points to 5G accelerating in China and East Asia second half of this year. ENET look very well placed to reap the benefits of that via their various partners, tie ups, direct contacts.Add in the news earlier this year of the tie up with the three tier 1 server vendors who approached ENET then I think we've got a very positive situation here.I think positive news on a number of fronts will send the shares smartly higher and start a re rating. At £16m m cap or so then the potential per £ ratio must be off the scale!GLA

Have been gradually accumulating here , now holding some 100,000.

Nowhere near as many as some , but a sizeable position in relation to my total portfolio.

Positive News must fall this year. I doubt investors will be enthusiastic, if market takeoff is postponed for another year.

This is the year.

Open RAN and the mission to crack massive MIMO

hxxps://www.lightreading.com/open-ran/open-ran-and-mission-to-crack-massive-mimo/d/d-id/768081?

Interesting and educational article, worth a read IMO if only for the discussion on ASICs vs FPGAs in the radio unit and seeing the viewpoint of another small player Benetel, an integrator collaborating with larger vendors.

Seems a long shot that it's Ethernity being referred to here.. seems more of a generic comment about O-RAN and how smaller providers could play a big role. We can daydream though!
