2021 Trends, Part III: Operators Demand Router Functionality Integrated into Servers

ethernitynet.com/2021-trends-part-iii-operators-demand-router-in-servers/

Lately, Ethernity has noticed an increase in OEMs and system integrators requesting Router-on-NIC functionality, often being sent to Ethernity from the operators. This trend is expected to snowball in 2021, as more and more operators realize the potential applications of a router that can be included within the server, via Ethernity’s ACE-NIC SmartNICs.

Ha well what I mean is I can see undervalued tiny mcap, low free float and massive potential looming near term. Nothing really makes sense in aim so I keep it simple. Like me.

Cheers guys - I appreciate what you're saying. I really like what this company is showing me, and I think I want in. Obviously, as I'm going by their own promotional publicity, I'm supposed to like it, but nevertheless, if this stuff is really real, then it's 100% an obvious fit for the rollout of the new world. REALLY exciting product line, and I look forward to the unveiling of the DU, which is supposed to be imminent. My only concern is that they may have left it too late, and that what we don't see is just as important as what we do see. There's never complete info, and while I do trust the BoD, and I've looked them up individually, I think there's a real risk they may be beaten to the punch when push comes to shove. The UK has 4 or 5 big network operators. Huawei is kicked out for the time being. About £3 billion to convert 4G to 5G, £30 billion for full fibre-optic broadband which WILL happen no matter what, and this is just one tiny country. Big investments across the board between these companies. My only concern is that substandard, inferior provision will be deemed satisfactory in the race for the acquisition of bandwidth and market share. I will of course research Ethernity Networks in greater depth before commenting further.

I giggled there collywobbles...AIM investments and fundamentals do not usually get mentioned in the same sentence!!!

Yep I think the main point is they don’t need to dominate . And the market is nearly there. For sure nothings certain but as aim investments go you can’t argue with the fundamentals .

Is very much encourage you to read the RNS from December 2nd. It really lays out the massive opportunity over the next 2 years and beyond. Large scale field trials will lead to orders of several thousand smartnics at 2-3k a pop .. it won't take much to move the dial on revenues

Hi gulu, I see things your first post on this site. There's actually a much better thread on the LSE (London South East) website which you should pose this to. Really the answer to the lack of sales point is because the deployment of 5g is about 18 months behind Ethernity's projections. There are trials of ENET kit occurring right now in Asia and the orders are expected to be coming in very shortly.

I guess potential in China is huge, no doubt the BOD assessed the risk and would have done a fair amount of due diligence.

I read a newspaper report saying that Ethernity sold some units (not many, I think) to a big Chinese player in the middle of last year. Tbh this makes little sense to me. Why would they do that? Why get involved with a significant Chinese customer at all, unless the order is huge? I have the basic idea of what the FPGA does, and what the claimed performance improvement is. However, I can't help but wonder whether this neat little application on a SmartNIC will have been reverse-engineered by now. Ethernity is still a very small company. One would have thought that the orders would have been piling in by now, from all quarters of the globe. Instead, it's constant exercise of 30p warrants and options. Burning too much cash and no orders to show for it. While I don't fully understand cloud networking and 5G, I am old enough to remember technologies of the past that didn't go anywhere despite being superior to the competition at the time. Betamax vs VHS is a story repeated thousands of times in the computer ("IT") world. *nix was better than CP/M or DOS. Data General One was better than IBM PC AT, etc.

There seems to be a real shift in thinking on OpenRAN. I am encouraged by the latest news that Europe's 4 largest mobile networks Deutsche Telekom/Orange/ Telefonica and Vodafone are linking up to support the deployment of OpenRAN across the continent and add in the statement" the technology of choice for future mobile networks to the benefit of consumer and enterprise customers across Europe". Then the request from 3 large server providers for Enet to integrate the DU plus router into the server adds adds up to considerable opportunity for ENET

Boonkoh I'd recommended their blog posts. The recent one was really interesting as basically the smartnic from Ethernity can give an instant "5g upgrade" to 4g kit. So a lot of their offerings are actually capital efficient and perfect while the world transitions to full 5g. Have a look -https://ethernitynet.com/2021-trends-part-ii-operators-will-continue-to-invest-in-4g/

I think Open RAN is the way it's going to go. Not being tied-in to one supplier makes so much more sense. ENET will win a slice of the pie as will others but even a very small part of the pie will transform the business. They are already well advanced in the 5G market in China (passing from laboratory trials to commercial trials) and making inroads in India too.

It is a steep learning curve to understand what ENET does, but I think that's why it is undervalued atm and therefore has allowed me and others to buy at this cheap valuation. The key for me is OpenRan. If networks worldwide embrace it, then it gives ENET the opportunity to sell in.If networks decide to go full stack from Huawei, Nokia, or others then its difficult for ENET to get a piece of the architecture.Luckily, OpenRan is getting traction due to networks being burned by Huawei and wanting to not put all their eggs in a single basket from now on. Also in terms of cost. OpenRan can be cheaper. All mobile networks are struggling in having enough capex for 5G rollout.

It might be the case that the tech will sell itself. Once the info is out there , the providers will have limited options , as enet will be the best in class.

I feel that only the committed and tech savvy would get anything from the Directors Talk comments. His strong accent makes him hard to understand. From a "marketing" context I do not feel his presentation would inspire. My takeaways from his comments were the following comments "we offer unique telecoms features"; he mentions China specifically; they provide a complete solution; he anticipates huge revenue growth. I await specific news.

Some are re-assured that he is a "techie" with considerable success in the past and not a BS artist. I understand that!
