18/5/2021 19:14 | So why did they stop using the plants ? Did they technology do what it said on the tin? | juju44
18/5/2021 18:40 | More info on the Eqtec plants at Castiglione d'Orcia, Italy and Karlovo, Bulgaria. translated from Spanish. The Castiglione d'Orcia plant was refurbished during 2014 and recommissioned in March 2015. The Karlovo plant was down sized to 1.5 KW as a result of Bulgarian new legislation and was to commence operations in Q2/2015. SIGNIFICANT FACT EBIOSS ENERGY, AD March 30, 2015 In accordance with the provisions of Circular 9/2010 of the Alternative Stock Market, The following information is hereby made available to the Market relating to EBIOSS Energy, AD .: SYNGAS ITALY START OF OPERATIONS, UPDATE INFORMATION ABOUT KARLOVO BIOMASS AND BUSINESS PLAN Syngas Italy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EBIOSS Energy, has completed the commissioning phase of its electricity production plant located in Castiglione d’Orcia (Tuscany) and has started the commercial operation and sale of energy during this month of March. Following the acquisition of Syngas Italy in April 2014, work began on refurbishment of the plant located in Castiglione d’Orcia in Italian Tuscany and at the end of 2014, once the reconditioning phase was finished, they started commissioning processes of the 1,000 kg / h gasification plant are underway composed of a gasifier with EQTEC Gasifier Technology and a power installed power of 1 MWe. The main equipment that makes up the electricity generation plant are the General Electric Jenbacher motor generator, (1 unit JMS612), the gasifier, the control system and its electrical panels, the electrical connection line with the substation, medium voltage equipment and auxiliary equipment of the gas cleaning. The gasification plant will use pellets from waste as fuel agricultural crops in the area (cereal straw) and its design has been made using the software EQTEC KINETIC MODEL (EKM), to determine the constructive specifications of the set of equipment that make up the gasification plant and thus obtain the best possible efficiency possible. In relation to the Karlovo Biomass plant in Stroevo (Bulgaria), 1.5 MW (according to the new regulation recently approved by the Government of Bulgaria), this plant will enter operation foreseeably during the second quarter of this year due to the necessary adjustments that are being made to comply with the new legislation in force. | stevea171
18/5/2021 14:32 | DB. Full cost of the Tuscany plant EU2.5 million. Value new estimated EU10-15 million? EQT 20%, others 80% (EU2.1 million). MetalNRG has 26.66%. So it's likely the other 2 partners - Irish Family office, Italian family office have 26.66% each as well. | stevea171
18/5/2021 13:10 | Looks like the Spaniards really pushed this forward possibly ahead of a stable technology base which is where they are now. It’s a typical R&D project becoming a commercial technology problem. Also with the ultimate owners going bust it probably meant that things were difficult to sort out as the right people left. Nice opportunity for the new EQT though. Is it clear to anyone what percentage EQT has in yesterday’s deal? | davidblack
18/5/2021 12:57 | Also there is a second 1 MW plant in Italy at Gallina. | stevea171
18/5/2021 12:48 | It seems it was to be a 5 MW plant but this spec may have been down graded to 3 MW at some stage of the installation. For operational reasons or to reduce cost? | stevea171
18/5/2021 12:41 | Was it ever completed? And if so has it been running? | davidblack
18/5/2021 10:51 | DB. Apparently not. It should be a prime target for recommissioning. Bulgarian Syngas Project Launches Construction April 3, 2014 Karlovo Power Plant Will Turn Syngas Derived from Straw and Wood Wastes into Cleaner, More Reliable and Economic Electricity The 5-MW Karlovo plant in Bulgaria, pictured here under construction, will use three of GE’s Jenbacher engines to help the country achieve greater energy independence. Bulgarian plans to use alternative fuels for generating sustainable electricity are now taking shape, following the start of construction of the Karlovo integrated gasified biomass power plant. When completed the plant will distribute cleaner electricity, using wood waste and straw, to some 2,000 homes. The landmark biomass-to-energy plant powered by GE’s Jenbacher gas engine technology is being built near Stroevo, in Plovdiv province. This plant is also being developed to reduce Bulgaria’s historic dependence on imported energy. The 5-megawatt (MW) Karlovo plant will use three of GE’s fuel-flexible Jenbacher engines—one J612 and two J620 units. The engines will be powered by syngas derived from straw and wood chips. Such organic waste is normally difficult to gasify effectively, but tight integration of EQTEC Iberia’s biomass-gasification technology, coupled with GE’s gas engines is expected to provide high levels of emissions performance, efficiency and economy. Scheduled for completion by the end of 2014, the plant is being built by EQTEC Iberia, part of Spanish holding company Ebioss Energy AD. It is the latest development in Ebioss’ strategy to apply its EQTEC Iberia throughout Europe to help countries reduce their dependence on foreign energy supplies and to increase the proportion of energy from renewable sources. | stevea171
18/5/2021 10:34 | That Bulgarian plant looks interesting. Is it working? | davidblack

18/5/2021 08:11 | From LSE on other EQT plants built. For a snap shot of any other future revival jobs, see this list. Bulgaria is currently mothballed... Eqtec Iberia has, to date, exported plant technology and expertise to Portugal, the Dominican Republic, Italy, India, France and Bulgaria among other countries. Eqtec Iberia’s modular advanced gasification technology is currently operational in three plants, the 6 MW Movialsa plant in Spain (its flagship project), the 1.2 MW Belisce 1 plant in Croatia (started commissioning in August 2017), and a 1 MW plant in Gallina, Italy. It has also installed its technology in a number of R&D plants and a 3 MW plant in Karlovo, Bulgaria. In 2011, Eqtec Iberia delivered a 6 MWe capacity biomass gasification, one of the largest plants of its kind in Europe, located in Ciudad Real, Spain: | stevea171
17/5/2021 18:27 | The Italian deal looks to have been an Eqtec Spain deal before the reverse into the Irish company and renaming as EQT? Just wonder how many more Italian type projects they completed before they were reversed into the quoted company? | davidblack
17/5/2021 13:49 | EQT Biomass-to-Energy. So now we have: 1. Movialsa, Spain. Olive pumice waste. 6 MW. Operational for 10 years. 2. North Fork | California, USA. 17/5/2021 12:51 | 'The O&M contract value for the Company is expected to be approximately EUR215,000 per annum'. This is the really interesting part for me because it confirms why I am so inappropriately overweight here - its all about the way these agreements generate the 'cash cow' effect. An actual figure has not been available before. There will, of course, be some margin on the euro1.75m engineering/parts, and the 20% ROI is very attractive but that yearly income, Euro200K on a 1MW facility, lets say Euro 1-1.5mil on a 15MW facility, repeated many times is where to money rolls in. Before long pump priming the equity will not be necessary (hopefully), so that will be the key figure. May not see one again if confidentiality included as part of the deal also. | gspanner

17/5/2021 12:26 | UK Investor Magazine@UKInvestorM EQTEC set to recommission waste-to-energy plant in Italy - UK Investor Magazine EQTEC, the gasification technology company, confirmed on Monday that it is planning to recommission its waste-to-energy plant in Italy. | stevea171
17/5/2021 12:12 | EQTEC and MetalNRG team up for Italian waste-to-energy project The plan is to recommission a plant that was built around EQTEC's technology back in 2015. EQTEC PLC (LON:EQT) and MetalNRG PLC (LON:MNRG) are teaming up to acquire and recommission a waste-to-energy plant in Italy. The plant was built around EQTEC's proprietary and patented Advanced Gasification Technology. It was originally commissioned in 2015, with a capacity of 1 megawatt. Once it is operational again, its intended that the plant will convert straw and forestry wood waste from local farms and forests into green electricity and heat which will be used in the local community. The partners envisage that the plant will be fully recommissioned and operational by the second quarter of 2022. The project is already connected to the grid and the venture partners expect that the project will benefit from favourable tariffs for electricity produced from waste biomass until the end of 2027. EQTEC will lead the venture, and it will own a 20% stake in the project, alongside MetalNRG which will own 26.66% and two additional partners (an Irish family office and an Italian family office). "I am very pleased that EQTEC will lead the effort with our partners to re-commission and revive this biomass-to-energy plant in Italy, providing power and heat to the area and demonstrating sustainable, commercial success with EQTEC advanced gasification,” said David Palumbo, EQTEC chief executive. “I am delighted to see us secure this with a well-balanced consortium of experienced partners and this is an approach we hope can be achieved for other projects in our pipeline.” MetalNRG chief executive Rolf Gerritsen, meanwhile, added: “This is our first waste-to-energy project and I am extremely excited by the opportunity that this sustainable plant offers to investors, local businesses and the local community. I look forward to working with our partners to progress this initial project." | stevea171

17/5/2021 10:05 | I have added another 1 million at 1.69p today. There is plenty of news in the pipeline. Today's RNS is fantastic news both for marketing and showcasing Eqtec technology with an IRR of 20% on investment. | stevea171
17/5/2021 09:58 | Only 10 days for MSCI Micro Cap inclusion. Based on EQT Mkt Cap I assume. From LSE: "I am expecting the share price to ramp up between now and the end of the month as large funds take positions in line with the inclusion on the MSCI micro cap index due on the 27th May." | stevea171
17/5/2021 09:10 | Ah yes there is: MNRG shares are at 0.625ish pence so £375k at today’s price. | gspanner
17/5/2021 09:05 | Have I got this wrong? Please check the maths.... ‘ MetalNRG will receive 27,932,961 new ordinary shares in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") based on the market closing price of 1.79p per Ordinary Share on Friday 7 May 2021, while EQTEC will receive 60,606,061 MNRG shares at 0.0083p which was the market closing price on the same day.’ So we give MNRG £500k worth of shares in return for £5k back? A typo somewhere? | gspanner |
