08/3/2023 09:41 | They're presenting the Norway results as "qualification" of the technology. "Enteq Technologies qualifies alternative to traditional RSS technology in Norway field trials" | 1gw

04/3/2023 12:27 | Interesting model in the US shown by King Operating and certainly should be a target customer. They buy righrs in old fields, usually vertically drilled, improve well access with directional drilling and extract value. Mauldin Economics - "Bottom line: One potentially significant upside in oil and gas investing is not just the actual price of oil and gas (which is important!), but the increase in the value of proven and probable reserves in the field. Think of it as buying an older apartment complex in a good neighborhood, doing a complete renovation, increasing the price of the rent and then selling the complex at the new increased value. Essentially, what my partners at King Operating do is buy the rights to drill in an older but proven field in a “great neighborhood.” Typically, the older fields were all vertical wells, but you can improve the value of that old field by doing horizontal drilling and fracking. (Oil and gas is a risky business and past performance is not indicative of future results.) It's more complex than that, but that is the essence." SABER needs to be out quickly, the competitive landscape is moving. | p1nkfish

02/3/2023 20:18 | 1gw, I asked about change of control provisions in a webinar a while ago. My notes say: "20.8.20: no change of control clause in the Shell contract, so NTQ could be taken over and buyer would access that technology." | somerset lad
02/3/2023 19:16 | May not bury it if the economics are attractive enough. Sunk cost of existing large fleet in existing technology vs need to build and roll out fleet of new technology. But if the full-life-cycle costs of SABER are good enough it may be worth the move for one of the big players, or even one of the second tier players. But first Enteq need to prove that it works. And I suspect there are fairly restrictive "change of control" provisions in the licence agreement with Shell. If Shell deliberately wanted an "independent" to develop the technology, they wouldn't have wanted that independent to sell the rights on to a major service company once it started working. | 1gw
02/3/2023 19:11 | I think Shell may be a bit annoyed if people started stealing their technology. Oil tech is a small world and if one of the big services companies actually tried to steal the tech there would be uproar. They are far more likely to buy enteq and bury the technology..like they have done before... | valuehurts

02/3/2023 17:33 | Couple of points. 1) Patents don't go far if you don't have the financial muscle to enforce them. Fact of life. 2) Don't assume there is only one way to skin a cat. Every day matters now and let's hope they have some commercial news on SABER when testing completion RNS is released. There's a big prize to win and others not sitting on their hands waiting to be beaten by Enteq. | p1nkfish
02/3/2023 11:41 | Let's hope they don't get a nasty shock. First to capture market share will have the advantage and some have deeper channels to that market and have their own plans. There's nothing unique under the sun. Every day delay makes a difference. | p1nkfish
02/3/2023 10:24 | NTQ have already announced there will be a further update on SABER in "early April", after the "encouraging performance" in preliminary drill testing. In the general scheme of things, waiting a relatively short while to ensure the product is as good as it can be for something which is proposed to be a sector gamechanger is hardly a problem. | rivaldo
01/3/2023 23:43 | It's not crunch time this could go on for ages... we need the tool to be an absolute killer when they bring it to market.. I for one don't want them to screw it up... | valuehurts

15/2/2023 08:33 | Beginning to look like the market reaction is to put the shares back in the (figurative) drawer and wait it out for further news in April. Undeniably good news that SABER could cut through 100m of granite maintaining steering angle. Undeniably frustrating that the timetable to first revenue appears to have slipped again. But they've got this far. They appear to be so, so close. | 1gw
15/2/2023 07:32 | Very happy with today's RNS, summarised as an "encouraging performance" by SABER. It evidently works. There were always likely to be at best further small tweaks following this preliminary live testing, rather than potentially (at worst) a significant overhaul. The next SABER and full trading update will come in early April, so not long to wait. At which point there'll be further detail on core trading - which will hopefully continue to improve given the current environment - and the property sale/cash pile etc. | rivaldo
15/2/2023 07:27 | Curate's egg - What is revealed is useful - What still to be revealed - Critical. Like VH await market reaction. | pugugly
15/2/2023 07:20 | I suppose the key missing is cash. No news on sale of the Houston site and no indication of ongoing cash burn. If they can get through to definitive success and first customer revenue then raising should be easier at that point. | 1gw
15/2/2023 07:13 | Aaand it works. We also need to do some tweaks and some US trials and then customers will do trials. Wonder how the market will take that. Good timeline and I like the fact they are open and clear. I think it demonstrates that this tech will certainly have a commercial application in future even though it's not gushing cash immediately. I like the fact they are continuing to derisk. Wonder how much attention this gets today. | valuehurts |
