It's seems China’s state-owned China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) used exploratory oil rig, Haiyang Shiyou 981 (HD-981), worth an estimated $1 billion in 2014. Not sure if the own it.
I presume it should only take 4-5 days to get there travelling at 2-3 knots/hr.

gbg...officially they have stated 5 days, but maybe they can do it a bit quicker in a perfect scenario?

If worst comes to the worst, imho, they could use a bigger ship which can cope with a higher swell. The ROV is underwater and not affected by the swell per se, therefore it's just the ship, and presumably more expensive, but cheaper than not drilling before the licence expires!!

It is possible. The owners of the overhand seem to be sticking to Plan A and have little appetite for letting their new holdings run a bit.

It is an interesting question as to what we should do if we get an offer for Duyung.

If low it makes sense to hang on for a better offer or an income stream.

But if it is an offer that can not be refused?

How about using the proceeds to buy back our shares (at 6p, the ones that we just sold to the market). That might appear mad, but in fact it would just be in effect time-shifting the Duyung proceeds because no offer was made in time. And if you think in terms of what the best value investment is available on the market, you could say that TK would reckon it to be EME shares.

It would have a sparkling effect on the SP, since we wouldn't have to wait for the overhang to clear.

I guess Tom and Gaz don't see the point in PR until the drill starts to turn. I would like to have seen PR leading up to it as it is a great story to tell to the wider PI investment market. Tom obviously knows better. Malcy does have a following in this sector and was a huge fan of this project, what's changed? Tom not making the effort to speak to him or send a weeks supply of bacon butties?

Don't bother they do very little with this, its free advertising....these guys are just not putting much effort into getting the story out there... I guess if your not very confident with timelines there is no point...

Its very annoying that TK doesn't stick his head above the parapet.
When was HIS last VOX market, proactive or any kind of interview to get the word out, He is the CEO isnt he???
Coro do Q and A sessions as do a lot of companies now....why doesn't he do that?
The man doesn't show any passion for this business at all..

ls1...stop harping on about selling Duyung...Duyung is the backstop position if China is not as expected...if the possible gas prices that Saf has posted (yes Saf, I will acknowledge that you provide some good information) become reality, then it could be worth more than many have predicted or even dreamed. aimho of course ;-)

Stewart4990 Malcy is a waist of time never did anything good for EME need better PR than him,Hope Gaza and Tom Kelly get on the road with PR promoting the company to new investors,out lining what a bright future EME has with the sale of DUYUNG and the drilling of the 3 wells in China this year.
