Pugugly, I think you'll find it's the same article from April 1 that has then been added to the Mail Online site a couple of days later.

It's good that it's being repeated but it's not new.

What might we expect in the next two weeks?

So during the last two weeks, after much resistance to investor communications, Eden finally broke their own mould and delivered through two films and two articles. The result of the same is that retail investors responded, to some degree and the share price is now 50% higher than it was.

Delivering investor communications (ideally through a considered plan) alongside an operational plan, will take your investor base (and new investors) on a journey with you. If you give them transport, they will travel!

So having dipped their toe in the water, will Eden deliver any RNS's to accompany or support the same in the coming weeks? If so, what might they be? Perhaps

1) CEO and Chairman first share purchases if they are not in a closed period?
2) News on a US distributor as mentioned by Sean in the Proactive video?
3) An update on the collaboration deliverables with Sipcam? The Proactive article said we are 'very far advanced'
4) Totally speculative, but if 'very far advanced' morphed into an imminent RNS, might Sipcam then put someone on the BoD, as is their right to do so under the terms of the deal struck
5) News on Bayer or Terpene Tech? Possibly a bit further off, but who knows as they are already (arguably) overdue. So milestone payments and an indication of the size of the markets they are targeting. Are Bayers 4 intended launches new products OR ARE THEY improvements and replacements for existing retail products on sale. If the latter, both could advise the market of the current market share thus indicating the realistic potential for these New Product Launches (sort of)
6) More communications and if so, what and why?

I always ask myself why companies are communicating, what is their strategy with the same, what is the reason for doing so and where (internally) might they be targeting the share price.

I don't know why Eden is now communicating and what the sudden change of heart is for this. The Chairman's preliminary results statement said we are 'at an inflexion point'. Does this indicate imminent announcements and hence the communication leading into the same?

Also, I have no idea what, if any, their communication strategy is, but might they reveal this soon?

I'd be disappointed if we didn't see worthy news in the coming weeks.

Unilever disclosure / Consumer awareness in the Food and Fragrance Ingredients
Sustainability Mega Trend??

Fragrance ingredients disclosure
Meanwhile, Unilever is also progressing with its transparency initiative by disclosing fragrance ingredients online in Europe for its home care and personal care brands. The move builds on the commitment Unilever made last year to build trust in its brands by providing in-depth product and ingredient information for its home care and personal care products.

The transparency initiative launched in 2017 saw the introduction of a new “What’s in our products?” section on the company’s website which provides details beyond the label including Unilever’s approach to developing safe products, explanations of ingredient types and support for people with allergies to find suitable products.

Individual product information will now be updated to include fragrance ingredients for home care and personal care products (down to 0.01 percent of the product formulation) along with details about how they are used and the role they play in creating the fragrances that people know and love.

“We know how important fragrances are to people – they want products that make them look good, feel good and smell good. We’re excited to take the next step in our transparency journey, delivering on our promise to give people the information they need to choose the right products for them,” said Unilever’s Chief Research and Development Officer, David Blanchard.

“People want to know more about fragrance ingredients and how we create scents for the brands they love. We’re happy to be making this information available online across Europe in 2018.”

Launching first in the UK and France, the fragrance disclosure initiative will roll out across all European countries by the end of 2018.

Palm oil breeds newest crop of billionaires in Kenya

Well found supersonico - I gave up on that one.

The photo in the This is Money article appears the be the fruit of palm oil trees. I note that they grow in many places including Kenya, where we are already selling Hawk 3AEY to treat botrytis and powdery mildew in peas, beans and cucurbits, and roses.

"Kenya

Kenya's domestic production of edible oils covers about a third of its annual demand, estimated at around 380,000 metric tonnes. The rest is imported at a cost of around US$140 million a year, making edible oil the country's second most important import after petroleum. Since 1993 a new hybrid variety of cold-tolerant, high-yielding oil palm has been promoted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in western Kenya. As well as alleviating the country's deficit of edible oils while providing an important cash crop, it is claimed to have environmental benefits in the region, because it does not compete against food crops or native vegetation and it provides stabilisation for the soil."

Super

Likely more valuable than any active ingredient solutions they sell!!!!!

Who will be the first to use Eden's IP for their own products. Sipcam 'very far advanced' or someone else?

When one does, many other will likely follow in my opinion. What will the 'Rate Card' say about a 10 year licence on the same?

runthejoules,

Eden have made it a strong priority to protect their IP and in the recent proactive interview made a statement to that effect. They also have an established relationship with Intellectual Ventures to protect and develop their IP;

Sean smith also prior to joining Eden worked for Intellectual Ventures.

'Smith joins Eden Research from Intellectual Ventures Management LLC, where he was head of Europe and innovation advisor in its invention development fund. Previously, he held the position of chief executive of MatOx Ltd'.

So I would say Edens IP is well looked after.

In answer to Your 2nd question, my reading of the Patent as another non bio chemist is that the micro particle technology offers a novel way of releasing a High potency pay load which previously had not been available, which means that it has the potential to be very valuable to EDEN under the Sustaine TM.

Boy, I wish I'd bought some of these after the Shares Article. Trust The Daily Mail to come in on their heels! Well done buyers.

However, there is no way I am buying a post-Daily Mail spike like this so will wait and see if there is a nice pullback to perhaps grab a few.

So, just starting my research really so apologise if these are stupid questions - are the patents for Sustaine's technology worldwide? And are there any extant rival technologies? I'm no biochemist but it does seem to me that there might be many ways for terpenes to be slowly released.

Many Thanks, RTJ.

Public opinion news..

Pasta spats: Canadian wheat exports to Italy slump

The world’s largest pasta maker says it has had to cutback Canadian imports of durum wheat – a key ingredient in pasta – because of ongoing consumer concerns about the use of a popular weed killer.
Barilla’s purchasing director Emilio Ferrari told grain groups in Toronto last week the company has cut back their Canadian wheat imports by 35 per cent, despite the fact Canadian durum wheat is of exceptional quality. No contracts for Canadian durum are being signed right now, he said.

The reason is that some Italian consumers are fearful Canadian wheat has been “poisoned” because it tested positive for traces of the popular and widely-used herbicide glyphosate, he said – a fear Italian farmers have capitalized on in an attempt to dissuade foreign imports, even though glyphosate poses no risk to human health if residues are within accepted limits. Canada is one of Italy’s biggest suppliers of durum wheat.

“Italian farmers took the opportunity to blame imported wheat,” he said. This despite the fact Italy cannot produce enough durum wheat to meet demand. “In Italy we need to import durum wheat for quantity and quality reasons,” Ferrari said, explaining that domestic production simply can’t supply the amount required. Fifty per cent of the pasta produced by Barilla is exported.

Investing; Re Nematicide.

From what I can tell there seems to be a consensus around the Global Nematicide market by 2025 being $1.3B.

The Eastman RNS talks about the $550M for the 'high value fruit and Vegetables segment' that leaves roughly $750M for other crop applications not in the 'high value' bracket so perhaps other crops like field crops where it may not be commercially viable to use Cedroz.

So Cedroz will be going after a good chunk of the $550m segment of the market IMO.

I believe the $1.8M figure was an error and even if it was not were still going for the premium $550M part of the market.. so it changes nothing.

That's how I see it...
