FTSE down today


EasyJet up over 1.2%


Only a complete idiot would be sat on an open short position on EasyJet. As for the smell I think you may have $hit yourself once again.

Price today 1050p

Meanwhile FTSE up 20% over year.

What's that very unpleasant smell?

Wow Gatwick passenger movements up 8.4% on March last year !!

That's against Easter last year.

April on target to be a blow out number, like not seen before . In addition Gatwick flying more long haul so Easy will also benefit re connecting flights into Gatwick . All the ducks are lining up beautifully . The good news just keeps on coming.

Plenty of egg on the face ( maybe a whole omelette!!) on the boom and gloom merchants

Also second set of question, if I had shorted easyjet 25k at say 1500 a year ago, how much could I have made if
A) I had listened to me when I said these had bottomed at 872?
B) How much have I still made now at 1145 (allowing for dividend and approx interest charge)
C) what's the ever decreasing difference between those two figures?

Could anyone help, if I had shorted say Easyjet 25k at 960p with the shares now sitting at circa 1060p
A) how much would I have lost
B) when should I close
C) at what point will I realise I was wrong and should have closed?

You're obsessed with shorters slobadob.

A tiny proportion of shares outstanding are held as shorts. 4 billion pounds worth of longs are the ones that should be worried.

Brexit is going to be painful for airlines like EZJ that dont have arrangments with other European Airlines, as BA have.

Its a real possibility that EZJ will only be flying to Belfast and Geneva in a couple of years.

With nothing but good news and improving figures surrounding EasyJet the share price will continue to rise as the remaining shorters start to close their positions as their paper profits continue to evaporate :-)

This bunch have no credibility whatsoever with regard to its target on Easy. They have been reporting this target for months whilst highly creditable commentators have been reviewing and upgrading. They simply do not have enough balls to carry out a UBS Ocado moment.

Whilst posting pleased to report NO Easyjet cancellations seen these past two and half weeks , bumper Easter. Blow out April numbers expected

Apologies for multiple posts. Having travelled extensively by air for many many years I can't remember seeing the Gatwick South terminal so full. A bumper Easter clearly on the cards. Always best to see things for yourself !!!

Disastrous couple of days for HOP in France with the cabin crew strike. Can imagine Easy will be picking up some passengers from this at top rate seat sales .

Back to fundamentals if I may.

Truly staggering share price close today. Sterling down a touch, oil up, yesterday's huge rise and the events overnight.

It appears Easter is going to be a bumper for Easy off the back of quite an extraordinary March . The cat is out of the bag as far as investors and City are concerned. Feel for the shorters that had their day last year but can't seem to let go. Shame for them as profits made are rapidly evaporating

I think I may have made a mistake bailing out at 10.4950 yesterday, I think this will run to 12+ by month end :-( might try and get back in if she drops sub 10.20
