12/4/2024 08:41 | Brody I don't think that you understand the dynamic in the region. There's nothing to gain by escalation but plenty to gain by threatening to. They are not nutters at all they have a strong grip on their country and influence over the region. They didn't get there by being nutters or stupid. Nutters don't take 11 days to respond. There's been hundreds of opportunities and triggers for wider engagement all were missed but many were threatened. Israel continues their aggression and are on thin ice globally. Just the US voicing support and despite the "ironclad" promise from Biden domestically there's no heart for this from the US population. It's election time and words are cheap. Whilst your analysis of the situation may suit the BBC and be supported in a UK pub conversation it's far from the truth. Iran will make a response they won't lose face for much longer but it won't be an escalation. History supports this view. Meanwhile easyJet continues to perform well. On the 18th the update will show a significant reduction in H1 lose and positioning for massive H2 profits. | sapphireblue1
12/4/2024 07:22 | Not looking good with Israel. More chance the share price halving than doubling this year if the nutters in Iran kick off. | chiefbrody
11/4/2024 13:14 | I don't think that anyone has all their eggs in one basket. I have 12% of my portfolio here and I am comfortable with that. I wasn't planning to sell today or tomorrow so what's changed. I didn't get excited by 590 or fearful at 540. It's just the journey and how it is. easyJet will have a bumper year this year. In a weeks time we'll hear about a reduced H1 loss and well ahead summer bookings. I don't care if the market doesn't value the work today as long as it does further down the line | sapphireblue1
11/4/2024 13:04 | Best not to put all your eggs in the same basket, have balanced portfolios. No single stock is risk free from a surprise.Look at the way gold is flying sky high at present. | zam1
10/4/2024 14:55 | Big risk mitigated with the cabin crew deal. The scale of the settlement demonstrates the huge change in circumstances the airline is experiencing. The risk of disruption is proportionate to the scale of the reward from a smooth summer. I am very happy with this as easyJet need continuity of human resources and this makes retention far easier. H1 figures will be interesting and some more information on summer performance | sapphireblue1
10/4/2024 14:51 | Trust the Yanks to batter the FTSE again ffs. | chiefbrody
10/4/2024 14:20 | Lets see how the information is on the 18th. | sapphireblue1
10/4/2024 11:57 | You'll have to endure wild share price swings then. If there's anything certain about investing in airlines, it's the next catastrophic event is just around the corner. Oil, war, pandemics, green loonies (wanting to stop us all flying). Just a question of which one will smash the airlines next. I'd say make sure you take some profits during the good times (hopefully within the next year/18 months) if the share price can add a few more pounds. Will sleep better at night then :-) | chiefbrody
10/4/2024 11:01 | I'm about £1 away from a one bagger on most of my holding, but I've been buying more as it climbs. | peddlers
09/4/2024 15:39 | I am very patient. I have only been here since October and invested initially for 18 months. I think that I'll be here much longer. | sapphireblue1
09/4/2024 15:07 | Sapphire, I really appreciate your posts from a guy who is professionally involved in the hospitality business. I'm not in as heavy as you but still 210k at an average of 407, so yeh I'll do well in time, not as well as my holding in Rolls-Royce at an average of 89.97p. Patience mate. | cevodniya
09/4/2024 13:30 | What we are seeing is a massive expansion of routes and they are drilling down on the profit makers to guide the expansion. More regionals more holidays. They are setting up for a massive 24 and momentum into 25. easyJet have some challenges but they are well in the ticket price already. I am in Marbella and talking to people arriving into Málaga on easyJet. Here we are after Easter and before summer, flights are full and people have paid good money to fly. Our hotels are 4 and 5 star so they can afford it but they are flying easyJet for convenience because they fly from regionals. I have invested £250k here. I will do very well | sapphireblue1
09/4/2024 13:22 | EasyJet best placed as airlines 'protest too much' about capacity squeeze | moneybeingmade
09/4/2024 13:18 | EasyJet best placed as airlines 'protest too much' about capacity squeeze | moneybeingmade
09/4/2024 12:34 | Yes it has potential to push the cost of flying up on all airlines. However if you can understand that easyJet are hedged at $110 a barrel and the spot is $90 then it's fair to assume that they are still enjoying the cheap fuel. Check the jet fuel prices across UK, Spain and Germany and you'll see how ridiculous your suggestion is. | sapphireblue1
09/4/2024 09:44 | What about the oil price and its trend upward? | noramping
09/4/2024 09:07 | You have to wonder how the conversation is at the Qube performance meetings. They are massively down on their short and it looks to me that things aren't going to be going their way. | sapphireblue1
09/4/2024 08:14 | More new capacity | sapphireblue1
09/4/2024 07:40 | Massive growth in the Costa del Sol. We have 4 hotels Málaga to Manilva and they are having record demand, well above previous covid levels. easyJet holidays filled their summer contract allocation well before Easter and we have added capacity at other hotels as they seek more beds. I think next year they will go in much higher on the bare numbers as they exceeded their expectations very quickly this year. Similar story in Malta as well where they added extra seats and beds. Bumper year | sapphireblue1
08/4/2024 20:29 | Brave move but best of luck to you (and all of us lol). Would Still love 700p by Nov (with this year or next) but a Brucy Bonus if it happens sooner. | chiefbrody
08/4/2024 20:24 | I added around £19k worth today. Looks set for a continuation of the already well established rerate. Fuelled by a substantial step up in the operating environment for easyJet. Full planes and increased fares. I think that the analysts are well off the current situation. Summer I think we'll see £7-8 once people realise how it is. We'll know more soon but this is as always all about the summer. | sapphireblue1 |
