Pe ratio of 6 seems low when profits could double within the next 2 or 3 years.

Damn it. I wanted to take a spread out on these for a Christmas play. Great results. This should push it up to 4.50 plus.

Many positives and just a couple of grey areas. Good to see that the Israeli invasion of Gaza has only caused very localised issues. It's a very small part of the business.
This management are clearly flagging chunky growth this year despite Q1 expected flat

noramping yes I did see it. I would like it to not be absolutely at the bottom of the range £440 million and £460 million. I see £450m+ as positive for the current expectation. It's quite a large range but on 12th October many costs would be estimated

Sapphire, they did a trading update last month, the results will be within the ranges reported then.

Predictable weakness before results.
I am hoping for profit mid guidance, dividend confirmed, strong start to Q1. 2024 bookings ahead of last year.

I think from memory it's around 92% of the capacity. However it's very clear that the unit price is now much higher so even if they achieve less sales they can secure more revenue.
They definitely don't change flights for the weather but they do change the price to reflect many factors like demand, events in at the location. As a simple example where a airport city has a marathon the price from release is much higher for the days before and after. They know that several thousand foreign runners will want to travel with almost no flexibility on dates.

Well done loss-leader, so EZJ looks at the weather forecast to put on extra flights?

Does EZJ have an issue with filling scheduled flights up? I assume their empty seat ratio is very low anyhow just like all the low cost flyers.

Other point by others such as fuel price coming down does have more effect on the bottom line.

Perfect environment for easyJet shares. Oil price gently falling, stability forecast in 24. No Volcano, no Chinese germs- just common seasonal virus. Even the pesky French Air Traffic Controllers are being neutralised by the new law where they have to give notice.

It's now or never for this share to gain serious traction

Summer hotel bookings are strong for us in Southern Spain and Malta, just starting for Greece and Italy. Lots of press speculation about the climate in Southern Europe after a very dry summer and less than 1% of the normal September and October rain. The theory being that holiday makers would look further North. Not from what I am seeing.
These are lean times for Hotels with higher flight prices squeezing budgets but we still have strong demand. Our room rates are exactly as last year and we are offering extra discount on+7day stays. Competition from Airbnb providers has been fierce but so far we have maintained market share.
We monitor "real" flight prices as part of our management strategy and we are seeing substantial increases across the board on this time last year.
I don't know if that equates to more volume or just a higher base price.

Early snow in the Alps leads resorts to open early. Good news for EZY if they can handle the extra demand. LL

I have seen a couple of similar articles. The point that they all miss is the importance winter performance. They always point to the almost inevitable final quarter but H1 is where they can set up for a big win.
T
If H1 can slash the expected loses then we can feel very confident that the numbers next year will be strong.
Looking at the current price quotes 2 weeks in advance gives us a good Idea that they have substantial traction in the marketplace and despite the failure of the UK economy people are still spending.

I guess then to apply that logic it only went up because it went down a bit before. Ultimately it will go up and down as people perceive it cheap or expensive within their means and risk profile. I think that it's come off of the recent high because results are looming. The release of numbers demonstrating a strong recovery prompted a significant drop. I guess that the confirmation and exact numbers demonstrating a strong recovery may do the same.
Well at least that maybe how some see it.

I'm holding.
The price was always going to fall back a bit.
I am intending to add more with a buy order in place at the moment.
Hopefully it will be triggered as I would like to increase my exposure here.

Building into inverted H&S pattern - similar to one between May'22 and Jan'23, but still struggling to break the downtrend from May'23.

Strong results from Jet2 and very positive into winter. Prices have increased, profit has increased, summer 24 capacity increased. Interim dividend increased.
Easyjet has much more exposure to the plus winter situation with Jet2 more focused on the sunshine destinations.
I think that we can expect post period positives from easyJet next week and a positive view of current trading.
Yes the UK economy is destroyed by many things but from the ashes easyJet are building a premium business within the budget sector. Adding value through easyJet holidays and (hopefully) avoiding the snakes whilst climbing the ladders.

The visibility here is huge compared to most listed companies.
I regularly perform a two week test price on Athens London,Malta London and Rome London to check the prices. These places are where my business has hotel interests.
The Athens to London is €70/90
Malta to London €50/80 and Rome to London €80/200. These prices for the base product are much higher than this time last year.2 weeks is a reliable measure in my opinion. This suggests a volume of bookings although not sold out yet.

It must be their H1 results to September end. A strong post period trading statement would reflect well on easyJet.
I think that easyJet holidays are set for a huge summer 24. I know several people from the UK who have booked for next year.
Easyjet holidays are only available from UK airports. I wonder if they are considering other markets as their could be huge potential growth from expanding this winner
