The number of "letter of intent" shares is falling rapidly:

"Therefore:

-- the total number of DX Shares which are subject to irrevocable undertakings and letters of intent received by Bidco from holders of DX Shares is 259,295,814 DX Shares, representing approximately 42.87 per cent. of the issued share capital of DX as at 12 December 2023 (being the date prior to the date of this announcement); and

-- the total number of DX Shares and CFDs which are subject to irrevocable undertakings and letters of intent received by Bidco from holders of DX shares and CFDs is 272,545,814 DX Shares and CFDs, representing approximately 45.06 per cent. of the issued share capital of DX as at 12 December 2023 (being the date prior to the date of this announcement)."

Interesting that Lombard have sold another 14mill at 47p. So we have an arb either playing for 1% return over the next 3-5 months , which seems mad or else the buyer is convinced some other bidder will come along. Now, its clearly the arbs who have been buying, eg. Sandgrove and Samson but the question is are they hoping , as with KCT, they can force a higher bid or get another party to come along ?

Obviously with the Lombard stake decreasing now to 5.4% and probably likely to go down to zero, it reduces the committed acceptances to HIG.

I should add there has zero spec of any counter bidder or of any major shareholder saying the bid is too low to date annoyingly.

We would need an expert like Exbroker to clarify what might be going on.

Is there a chance HIG with their 30% stake could vote against the dividend get away with only paying 47.5p for DX. Or am I talking bollx

Went ex-divi yesterday. So fine if you sold yesterday or today.

Do you need to be on shareholder register at close of play today, or start of day to get divi? Thanks

12.5% return over less than six months after buying on the approach. Very happy with that sort of return, if unhappy at another undervalued private equity buy-out.
I hear those private equity managers pay less tax than their cleaners!

They already have 54.6% in the bag. A chunk of private shareholders won't vote and I'd expect other institutions to fall in line with the offer. The chances of it not making 75% are very low.

Glad I bought more the other day. Let's see if this drops 1p on ex dividend day. Let's see where this settles. Do I sell soon and move on or wait for sometime in Q1 for maximum returns.

Its not impossible. You can still buy at 46.8, not a bad deal on an annualised basis, with the outside chance of a counter bid thrown in for free.

I always expected this to be taken over but imagined it would be a trade buyer. In the end it was hard for the board to resist when the bidder already had the support of 30%+. They did manage to get us another 1p so certainly didn't lie down. But DX another company that the market simply refused to value properly.
