Each to their own. As previously posted, I buy dips and top slice into the rips. Consistently lowering my average price and Boosting the yield. Had a bit of seller's remorse having sold out between 1180 and 1280p a while ago. Very happy to get back in below 980p again this week. Obviously more upside Compare to downside can only lose 100%. Even UK giants shell on B.P are up well over 100% since slashin dividends a few years ago, with large quantities of quarterly dividends on top. Sounding familiar by any chance?

I know many dont like anything deemed technical..but imo its best to deem the above as the fundamental views of main market . All a chart is doing is giving real time fundamental actions if u look at it that way

Imo Q1 2024 had to get continued support. Dramatically failed to do so after cleansing 870s/810s

Has to go back there soon. That's just nature of the beast

As far as being a support zone again, risk would be up 80% for an auto order

The only chance it has is shorters exiting a consolidation there and not just minor adjustments. Has to get there, and then has to be seen

In the interim, no chance of them bailing out above in decent numbers

And a. Very slim chance, that range given is ultimate target

Not much point discussing it until above 1000 or sub 900. None of us right until either occurs.

Both alerts set

See y'all at whichever

Looks like 940p might have been a decent re-entry price. It's easy to call the bottom retrospectively. Different matter to catch a falling knife, even when valuation is completely bonkers. Last time DEC traded in low 900s, the usual Suspects were calling for new record lows. A few months later, DEC was up 45%.

I dont think a fund buying plan for lower prices can be in operation under current shorting weight

Iran must be planning a massive attack with the US trying to string out talks with every delay tactic possible, for a 2nd carrier to arrive

It might help ypu with an Isreali response attacking their oil infrastructure as a response

You could argue your first point the other way, marksp

DEC doesn't frac, so will be less affected by any restrictions. Decline rate in fracked wells is steep, so any fall off in activity from low price or less capacity will increase demand

A lot of you seem convinced it's a good average down. Sounds like you are in pension fund mode re placing orders at lower prices of importance to them

So what are those orders prices?

JusticeNoone knows how Harris will play fracking and there is an increasing likelihood that Democrats will get a clean sweepGas prices are very lowGas storage facilities are very fullCanadian liquidation facilities come on line in Q4......hence the I3 takeout...this increases global supplyUnlikely to generate a bull market for a US based Gas extractor DEC is a good short at the moment but, that tide will turn.

If its blatant corruption, surely the smart thing to do is account for it

Worth noting that 3 of the top 10 fallers on the S&P were energy companiesValeroDiamondbackExxonTraded yesterday and picked up another 42 free shares. (I know they aren't free as I am carrying that risk but it does make for a very healthy average price)

Blatantly obvious what the short sellers have wanted to do here. Mentioned it before.
Aim was to drop the market cap below the FTSE 250 threshold so trackers have to sell.
30% fall in 3 weeks based on what exactly? What earth shattering news has been released?
It's blatant rigging and corruption time and again.

As such DEC can be manipulated easily by institutions because difficult to know the true value . The business model is based on future expectation and cash flow .

The other commonality is that they both significantly cut their divis out stating they were sustainable across the business cycle!
Just saying.;-)

Provided these wells are bought at a reasonable price and not over paid .Business of this kind requires good knowledge and expertise , very difficult to evaluate the true value at a given time

The main commonality I saw in terms of business plan was taking on mature producing wells past their peak production (rather than emphasis on exploration), but I take your point on the other factors.

Bluemango - there's a world of difference between I3E and DEC. The only commonality is a high dividend and a lot of wells....
