21/2/2024 16:11 | It's partly (largely?) because most of the herd currently thinks 'too good to be true' that the price is down at this low level with a very high yield. If the price hadn't dropped, the yield would look generous but otherwise unremarkable given the sector. The dividend itself has been regular and constant for several years, with just small increments every few quarters. Next question? | bluemango
21/2/2024 16:07 | I did read info on the thread and I still don't understand how it is possible to pay and maintain a 30% dividend. It's one of those "too good to be true". Surely everyone would be buying if that was the case? | crt131
21/2/2024 16:02 | This article published two days ago (with the caveat that it's Motley Fool so not necessarily fully researched) is a reasonable start. Otherwise, as Premium Beeks suggests; read the thread. | bluemango
21/2/2024 16:00 | Plenty of info and links to info on the thread | premium beeks
21/2/2024 15:56 | Sorry to have to ask, but why do these seem such a bargain considering the huge dividend. Am I missing something? Appreciate if you could explain | crt131

21/2/2024 15:44 | 110k after 90 minutes. US volume might overtake the UK before the UK even closes. Just jumped over there to 956p. | aleman
21/2/2024 15:18 | US trades up to 75k in just the first hour as the price jumped. Low volume here suggests we've run out of sellers at this price, with 1/4 of registered shares already having gone to the US in just two months. I'm surprised so many were happy to give them away at these prices. | aleman
21/2/2024 15:10 | Yes, I'd presume other producers will take similar action to Chesapeake. Hence we could see quite a bounce in Nat Gas.It's 1 of the big negatives that were a reason to short taken out. | premium beeks
21/2/2024 14:57 | With ~85% production hedged, I wonder if Diversified have applied a bit of ‘smarter management’ with some of the remaining 15% and rested a few wells while the gas price is low. If so, pressure should have time to build up around those wells and give a higher flow rate for a while when the gas price is more favourable. | fordtin
21/2/2024 14:55 | Has it been touched on that if the institutions who have lent out stock for the shorter would like to participate in the tender offer the shares will need to be giving back (ie. Bought back)?6th most shorted on the LSE, I doubt there is much more borrow around if they want to keep a lid on the share price | alanpro1
21/2/2024 14:46 | Was that the bottom in now for NG1, at 1.55, nice rebound today..Another day closer to XD 29th, see if the shorts scrabble to cover..? | laurence llewelyn binliner
21/2/2024 14:41 | NAT GAS SOARING! +11% TODAY | justiceforthemany
21/2/2024 14:10 | In the last 5 days alone the share price has gone from 900p to 950p, back down to 900p and back over 940p. That is a volitility of over half the dividend. What evidence do you have that a large percentage of shares have been sold short and that those who did so haven't already covered their positions? | this_is_me
21/2/2024 12:42 | Since it's a quarterly dividend then that volatility is only around an eighth of the amount of the annual dividend and we know that there's a lot of volatility to this share due to the shorting shenanigans. Nevertheless the average has been broadly flat for the last 4 weeks now. For anyone short on the XD date next Thursday I would say that an 87.5c/share additional charge on top of their ongoing financing costs is highly significant, especially if the price edges up as we move closer to the XD date. | bountyhunter
21/2/2024 11:24 | Bounty. How does the size of the dividend compare with the fall of the share price of around £3 this year? Why then would the few who have gone short care about the dividend? Also if you look ar the 5 day chart you will see the share price has moved up and down by around 40 in that time - more than half the amount of the dividend. | this_is_me

21/2/2024 10:33 | Does breaking through the 20-day average suggest a go at the 50-day, around 1045p? It's done this a few times before and would be fairly typical for most stocks. | aleman
21/2/2024 10:24 | A rising N.gas price should help sentiment despite the large scale hedging in place at higher levels. .................... | bountyhunter
21/2/2024 10:23 | Why doesn't someone put a link in the header with the faqs on this? There's enough info to consolidate the salient bits and keep the thread focussed on the none-corporate action stuff. On a side note, people investing in US related stocks with no idea of how to deal with the tax and domiciled regulatory implications should not be investing in US stocks, neither should they be relying on bulletin board info for their tax planning | premium beeks |
