Lab305 - plenty of shareholders have been selling below 47p too so if it gives some PIs an out at potentially a better price why not?
No one is being forced to sell and the automatic default is to take their divi.
I do agree with your first question though, why would anyone want to sell at 47p if you bought in at £1+ and the divi is still being paid.
Unfortunately selling at the bottom is not unusual for the typical
PI as worries and fear take there effect thereby missing out on the potential bounce back.

Quite incredbile to see the short positions actually increase here in the last week! Now 3.08% delcared and out on loan. The run up to Ex-divi is going to be fun!

scrawl 100% right. Why would anyone want to dispose of any of their shares for around 47p when most paid more than £1. I note they did more buying yesterday to support their initiative . The plain fact is most holders are losing large percentages here and the new scheme is going to help them crystallise their loss on some of their holding. Smoke and mirrors and the usual over complexity whilst Rome burns.

That's a great point bounty. It isnt only the shorters who can play dirty games. The share price couls be driven up by interested parties( not me with 5000 odd shares lol)

I've just noticed that the 87.5c dividend is now worth 70p at the current exchange rate. Even the exchange rate is not going in the right direction for UK shorters, and after XD the price could now be driven back up by the institutions to maximise the price they can receive in the tender offer. Today's been a bleak day for the shorters.

If it gets back to $12.59 in NY that's £10 equivalent.

Natural gas 1.58 usd. Not for widows and orphans. There's so much oversupply they dont even need the gas coming out of Nelly's posts in the US. They need to buy close to the coast and export asap!

Almost 2% of the shares traded today. High volume is as good an indicator as you'll get regarding market inflection points. Definately a positive. Gla

Definitely think it benefits US investors - a very sensible move - no doubt shorters will hate it and say they are obscuring something.

Both UK & US markets are moving up as Shorters begins to close their positions,as the days are nearing 1st March , the exit to the door might be like a bottle neck and many trapped . The smart shorters cover their positions now rather than wait till the last minute.
