People seem not to understand what the US political system is. Lots of people trying to get TV air time the can use in their campaign videos or to get funding from donorsIf the share price is 20 in us and 10 in UK, hedgies will buy in UK and sell in usDec will be a political football. It is working in a nasty bit of a polluting industry. The noise won't go away. It will be a target for "stop oil" types forever. On the other side noone can doubt the damage Methane does. If I were hutson I would open diversified capping Inc and benefit from all the pressure?

Is it correct that the prices quoted in the UK and US should be roughly equivalent? Or are there a different number of shares in issue?

As it stands, the US price of $16.87 at 8.45pm GMT translates as £13.26. UK price is £11.22. A difference of 18.2%.
If the difference still exists tomorrow morning, there will be an arbitrage opportunity to sell the US listing and go long the UK listing, thereby locking in the 18.2% difference until prices converge.

It appears the Americans are less stressed about 4 Members of their Parliament writing a letter to the company (or alternatively no-one is trying to short the stock on NYSE as yet).

This smells a little does it not, US buyers can only buy what UK holders release, a very conveniently timed disparaging letter appears the same day as the NYSE listing goes live, the next day the UK bid drops almost 25% on the news, the tree gets well and truly shaken, they all get mopped up stateside and the share price recovers half its losses same day and is still going on the NYSE..

Call me cynical, but the timing stinks…
