No, they are looking to see if they can create a "Class" for class action.
As DEC weren't selling or placing shares in the US, the OTC Market is owned by a sponsor not DEC, they are going to struggle..

Welcome to America

97Peter,
I stand by my calculation, even if the exchange rate I used (1.27 $/£) is a little generous.

Unless the shares are held in a SIPP, WHT will most certainly be deducted (at 15% or 30%, depending on the platform which is used).

I've seen two US "ambulance chaser" law firms announce class action law suits against DEC today. Seems baseless to me but it's another problem they don't need.

No WHT for some! Plus nearer71p than 69p? Most brokers like AJBell, HL and II don’t take this off, so much better off, now and each quarter of lovely divis!!!

97Peter,
I think you are a little on the high side. The declared February dividend is 4.375cents (for the old shares).

4.375c X 20 = 87.50c @1.27 ($/£) is 68.90p.

WHT @ 15% will reduce this to 58.56p.

Get ready for another NY rise based on the LSE action. Still a long way to go though.

Just a 100% rise needed in share price and will be back to where it was this time last year. Once we get there it will be onwards and upwards to 3,000.00 +++

Sberger - You are looking at around 74p per share in February divi! Hope that explains?

Can someone explain the dividend to me / yield as it looks like they are paying a few cents on a share of 10 pounds. Thanks

Good point, it's a very good strategy buying back shares at this level and increases the chances of the sky high dividend being maintained.
The shorters will need to close at some point certainty before the XD date but probably a lot sooner.

Another 162 grand's worth bought back on the 22nd.

When viewed cumulatively, these are not insignificant amounts and will help proportionately increase what's left to distribute to shareholders, whilst saving on the overall dividend outlay. As has already been said by others, it's currently one of the best ways of the company employing cash with the shares having been pulled so low with this shorting.

You would normally think a price target 200% ish higher that today's price is a bit over the top. Personally think it's quite easily achievable GLA

The NYSE:DEC trading yesterday indicated a rise and we've got one. It's certainly worth keeping an eye on.

View and Valuation. We believe Diversified offers an attractive and differentiated proposition that could be of interest to US investors; it has a leading cash profile that is underpinned by a low decline asset base as well as by its unique hedging policy. We reiterate our Buy rating and update our otherwise unchanged target price to 3,200p.stifel

A very interesting watch up to 29.02.2024 and the next XD, shorts will not want to own that responsibility... :o), it would make sense to see some covering before then..

It is an expensive game shorting a share paying a dividend of this size. Not conducive to sleeping easily i should have thought.

Should be a great game of chicken playing out over the next 8 weeks!!!6% of market cap available for reinvestment tomorrow and another 6% in 8 weeks plus best part of 90m of buyback pool still available. Will the shorters hold there nerve and how deep are their pockets??
