#Bountyhunter, indeed, I was planning to add 50/50 pre/post XD, but as it played out with the DXY turning and NG prices rising, expecting the Tanos deal to close and I ended up adding all dividend qualifying shares instead, strategy being to keep for a DECade with a W8-BEN in place and collect the income..

See where it heads next week now the dust is settling.. :o)

Also worth remembering that the gas prices in the Gulf Coast are currently trading at an c.20% premium to those in Appalachia. The Central Region also benefits from lower regional differentials, with the recently acquired assets receiving a US$0.3-0.4/Mmbtu net gas differential discount against an Appalachia.

NG1 prices punched through USD3 now and a strong rebound from the 2.1 recent lows, interesting timing for DEC to plan/close the Tanos deal right at the bottom, hopefully gas prices will pull the share price along with it now, and good news for shares added in February on or under 105p in the recent raise with the XD drop recovered in just 2 days.. :o)

Exactly. Clearly it's just an indication as they wouldn't have received the dividend yet let alone know what the exchange rate will be. No wonder you can't access it until the 28th as that's when they will receive it.

Oneill, are Saxo clairvoyant? We (or at any rate all of us except Saxo)won't know for a couple of weeks at what exchange rate the dividend will be converted into sterling for payment.

Some account providers show the dividend as a credit in advance of the actual payday, but most do not including Barclays smart investor, they wait until the payout is received and then distribute it to nominee accounts up to 10 days after, only then can you draw it down or reinvest. Most dividends land same day or next day, but some can take a week of longer when there is a discrepancy in the received amount compared to what is due as it all gets sent back and they start again..I received a 0.727 multiple for the last one here after the WHT as they are not much interested in a W8 BEN-E for nominees..

Oneill - are you trading a leveraged product with Saxo bank as opposed to holding DEC shares?

So far so good for the XD rebound on the Tanos deal closing news, buying the dividend looks to have been the right call and worked out rather well for February PF additions.. :o)

Ex-div low shaping up to become a bullish double bottom on the chart.

From my personal experience I have found that topping up before ex div has been more profitable than waiting for a slight drop after. I have found that the drop after ex div (generally) recovers quickly and often even does so on the same day...just from my own experience FWIW.

Good luck to all those topping up, and especially those starting positions in DEC For them the last couple of weeks have been a gift from the gods!!

I am already overweight, and (with difficulty) am exercising restraint today. I did weaken and buy a few more at 102.5, but shall look to sell them in due course to correct my weighting. I want to see the share price up first though.

As I said, I would hope, indeed, expect, that the share price will recover after the last of the current excitements is behind us with the ex d date. I expect the RNS to be reassuring, but would be surprised if it told us anything much that we do not already know.

#1Knocker, buy today and collect the dividend or buy from tomorrow and miss it, swings and roundabouts so I have added a few qualifying shares daily, with the accretive Tanos deal due for a completion RNS in the morning too will this over ride the impact of the typical XD drop in the share price and spark the reversal trend..?

We could have seen the lows in NG1 now, the DXY seems to have turned at 105 too heading lower now and we should get a decent FX fix for the coming 0.04375 dividend..

An interesting period coming up..
