You have been told at the beginning of last week but some still went in to buy for the juicy dividend , now those who bought had their quarterly dividend evaporated into lower price .

What chance of 95p by weekend ?

Why buy now when you can buy cheaper later !

Still a great buy for the divi around this price in the longterm but I'm sure a few who bought at 130p aren't feeling the love at the moment

Where will it stop ?

So far, the share price machinations have met my expectations, little Henry here at my side waiting patiently with his limit order instructions lodged.. :o)

Polymetal is another good example of buying with a long term view and buying on the dip to average - who knows that Russia invades Ukriane last year and those who bought before the invasion loss at almost 80% of their wealth - LUCK & TIMIMG are key for your information.

I too taken a long term view after the financial bank crisis and bought the 5 Uk bank shares in stages to average down and after over a decade and a half , these Uk banks still not above water for your information and the money got stuck unless I want to take a LOSS. Whatever we buy or sell , LUCK plays a very important part!!!!

If you take a long term view today's share price does not matter. I have treated it as a buying opportunity.

That long-term chart shows us bouncing off 97-99p in the past, I expect we'll see double digits again soon, especially with a dividend coming.

I'll be a buyer at or below 100p.

The share price movement is classic DEC. You can buy at the dip and take the divi to hold longer term or sell out when it goes into the 120s.
I chose to exit in tranches from the end of Oct to the start of Jan and reinvested elsewhere. Currently this was the correct decision by quite a margin both capital and income.
I don't have the funds to buy back in at the 100p level which if I did have I would.

The company has bought some assets at a good price and issued shares to do so that investors with bigger pockets than us were happy to take after having done ( Im sure) plenty of due diligence. The strategy of the company provides a very high probability that the dividend will continue to be maintained for some years ahead. With a return in the order of 12/14%. As Buffet says there are times when mr market gives you the opportunity to fill your boots.

DEC share price will depend greatly on 28th. Feb day trading . IF DEC traded and closed below £1 with high volume on this date - be sure 95p. will be tested on ex - div date .

Time to calm down chaps. Take a smoke break. Sometimes it pays to step back from the screen (and the keyboard) for a bit. Remember, we do our thinking, we buy/sell or place our limit orders accordingly, and then we make our profits (or not) doing NOTHING.

cassini,I think when a company owns circa 70,000 wells, we can safely assume an 'average' when it comes to well life. Tell me, oh great genius, at what point does the amount of input costs make the remaining output of a well uneconomical to keep pumping what little remains ? (You do understand, right, that the wells use energy themselves, materials are used - that they're not powered and supplied by some free magic sourcing ?).

Anyway, too many on this board believe in magic, so good luck to you.

Chart wise, considerable support at around the 99p level, my feeling being that if it does stop around here, it will be brief & followed by a rebound, ex divi or not. Very tempted to add if it touches £1. ;-)

Exactly...you either believe that there is value around these levels or you don't.if you don't then sell out and find something else....

Stevensupertrader - Calm down, either average down or sell out, posting because the share price is dropping wont do anything.

Average down the divi looks very attractive right now. Like other have said we will most likely go sub 100p very soon we still have week before it goes ex.

Everyone is waiting on the sidelines before buying. No need to rush in just yet! I think this will edge below £1 in the next week.
