20/9/2015 08:25 | Good find Berny. I like the new packaging. Huge improvement from the old one. And a new Blavod website is about to be rolled out too apparently.Looks like Kanetz is really pushing Blavod. US sales should easily cover lost income in Eastern Europe this fiscal year and should overtake sales over there next year. | dante17
18/9/2015 22:56 | I'm surprised they've tweeted this. Gives the impression they're an official Rugby World Cup sponsor when that surely is not the case! "RedLeg Rum @RedLegRum · 4h4 hours ago IT'S TIME! Watch #RugbyWorldCup2015 with Redleg Rum! Who will you be supporting? #Twickenham #rugby #rum" | someuwin

18/9/2015 13:19 | Back to my twitter review on Blackwoods Gin: it has gone from the following number of followers 27/08/15 6587 15/09/15 6953 17/09/15 7281 18/09/15 7403 That looks to me like the awareness of the Gin is getting traction. | berny3

18/9/2015 10:14 | '''petersinthemarket 15 Sep'15 - 13:47 - 1099 of 1120 0 0 edit Wow! Nothing, week after tedious week, then a 25% surge in 2 hours. Incredible. Nowhere near enough yet but a very exciting start. Could just be chancers but I've always considered this company to be ''leaky'' so maybe this is the sign of good news coming. I'm assuming there must be news of some sort in the pipeline. If Distil have just sent it to the agencies then somebody knows............''' Like I said in my note timed at 1:47pm, this company is leaky. Somebody did know something before us and made a few bob out of it. Some unusual buying in the 2 or so hrs before the TU was released at 2:30pm. However, I agree with your optimism this time Berny. The interims were 16Dec last year but this year promised for November. Lets hope that means they expect to have something good to announce. It also means the xmas trade will be in the following TU, maybe about March. pete | petersinthemarket
17/9/2015 07:55 | Not sure what is happening with the Share Price - looks like share price fell on trades in the morning but similar larger trades in the afternoon failed to bring the price back up. The TU was positive we will have to wait util we get figures in November before get a truer picture. However, piecing news together it looks like things are increasingly getting better and better. | berny3
16/9/2015 17:56 | TU showed they are on the case, but it's still jam tomorrow. SP back where we started. Roll on xmas. pete | petersinthemarket
16/9/2015 15:52 | sales volumes up 26% and revenue up 76% and the share price goes up and down like a drunkard, roll on chistmas and new year and hopefully big rise in share price. | distill
16/9/2015 10:06 | Agreed Berny. Since 2014 it has been the the stated plan to improve margin considerably over the previous ''busy fools'' approach of selling third party products. This does seem to be happening. There will have been some set up costs to cover and because of the long time lapse between the ''still'' and the ''market'' there must have been some preparation going on well before the main announcement was made last year. I won't go over previous grumbles again. I have few doubts about the eventual success even in such a crowded market. I just look forward to that long awaited target of break even, last promised for Spring 2014. GL all, pete | petersinthemarket
16/9/2015 07:20 | Pete, DietCoke and Water concerning financial figures the RNS stated. "both overall sales volumes and revenues up 26% and 76% respectively on the same period last year" With sales volumes up 26% and revenue up 76% suggests that the number of products sold has risen by 26% but revenue has increased considerable more that that. I.E. margins have improved. Raw material costs up by 26% but cash received for product up 76%. We need to wait for half year results to get clarity on this but that could mean that the company is close to or at profitability. | berny3
15/9/2015 23:30 | Diva price is here.hTTp://mostexpe | haggismchaggis
15/9/2015 20:11 | Where did all these lurkers come from? I thought there were only two of us on here. Only joking. Be interesting to see where the price settles over the next few days. pete | petersinthemarket
15/9/2015 17:32 | So this is quick and dirty, if nothing else changes they will make a small loss this half (75000-100000) and a smaller profit (15000-50000)for the six months to march for a tiny loss for the year. If the year on year sales momentum is maintained into the second half then they could just make a profit for the full year. The above numbers depend on them having maintained their GP from last year and also that there have been no big rises in advertising/marketin TBH, thats what worries me here. There is no mention of profit in the update which makes me wonder if the news on costs isn't as great as that on sales. However, things are moving the right direction now. To fail to make money in 2016-17 would IMHO be an epic failure of management which doesn't ring true with the current team. | dietcoke197
15/9/2015 17:10 | agree water, but using it as a guide to build an understanding. As we have seen margins steadily increase under DG it would be fair to think they have remained the same rather than move in any dramatic fashion. | berny3
15/9/2015 17:02 | I am hoping that Jagos also garners sufficient interest to justify its production. That would be a real Xmas boost to sales! | dante17
15/9/2015 17:01 | Absolutely great news that Diva vodka garnered enough interest from high end retailers to justify its production. Diva has got great potential and can bring in large revenues from the sale of just a few bottles, as each one can cost many thousands depending on the number of crystals in the bottle. It's probably got the highest profit margin of all Distil's products. And it's being exported too. Damn good news. | dante17
15/9/2015 16:24 | "However, you can use the figures from last half year and full year results to estimate the financial position". I'd be very careful assuming that. | waterloo01
15/9/2015 16:19 | Think we will need to wait until November until we get an idea of profit figures. However, you can use the figures from last half year and full year results to estimate the financial position. 70% growth in revenue in the quiet period of the year what that means for the multiplier effect for Christmas Trading period looks promising. In addition you would hope that US market gathers momentum as it has been working from zero. Not too bothered about near term pricing as the price is heavily swung by trading. Over 600 retweets on the latest Blackwoods Gin post and this has resulted in followers increasing from 6550 to almost 7000 now. Do not know the take up rate of new followers to product consumption but would imagine there is some correlation. | berny3
15/9/2015 15:52 | Insider dealing today? Not great that someone seems to have traded it. Revenues look better but no mention of that old sanity item.....profit. I'll continue to sit this one out. | waterloo01
15/9/2015 15:39 | Thanks Berny - missed that in all the excitement. Looks also as if i may have missed a chance to off load a few. pete | petersinthemarket
15/9/2015 15:04 | rns says November. | berny3
15/9/2015 14:59 | Just found it! 2:30pm is a strange time to release an rns - isn't it usually 7am? Anyway we now have some clues even if there are nowhere near enough figures. Seems like there is some sort of progress but saving the big hit for the interims which I think last year were on 16 December. I fear the share price will go back close to 0.8 after the initial excitement dies down. GL, pete | petersinthemarket |
