15/9/2015 14:51 | Something else I have been running in the background as part of my twitter review is looking at followers. Blackwoods Gin is creating an increasing number of followers. I think the brands are beginning to get traction in the UK and we are seeing an increase in volumes way above that of the market norm. This is progress. | berny3
15/9/2015 14:42 | Just read it - 76% growth in revenues should put us on target for close on £400K in the first 6 months. By my basic calc I do not think that is far off break even. If we can get the pick up in sales normally experienced going into Christmas we should at minimum break even maybe possible a small profit. | berny3
15/9/2015 14:32 | And we have another wholesaler for RedLeg Rum | berny3

15/9/2015 11:08 | that's only £4K worth and moved the price 13%!! Getting a little tweeter geeky - Blackwoods Gin tweet now 453 retweets and an extra 250 follows. | berny3

15/9/2015 10:10 | Blackwoods Gin and HotelChocolat Gin Puddles seems to have got a good response. 419 retweets and counting. A lot of positive comments about the Gin in them as well. | berny3
14/9/2015 17:03 | Interesting to see a tweet tie up between Hotelchocolat and Blackwoods Gin as prizes in a competition. | berny3
14/9/2015 11:55 | Nice post from Portugal for Blackwoods Gin today. Pete, it would be nice to get a bit further news of how the summer period has traded. Interested to know how the sales of Redleg Rum has been progressing. | berny3
14/9/2015 08:49 | TU this week - 14th last year, so maybe tomorrow. At last - doesn't it seem a long journey? - pete | petersinthemarket
11/9/2015 18:44 | Another strange trading week. Perhaps a couple more buys than usual but still only a couple of thousand pounds at a time. Matched by a few sales of similar size. In fact the buy/sell chart above tells quite a story. Continuous declining interest in the company. Next week we will have a TU and at last have a few up to date figures to go on. I'm not holding my breath but very willing to be pleasantly surprised. Have a good weekend, pete | petersinthemarket

08/9/2015 09:01 | cheers crb. Twitter chatter on RedLeg is becoming increasing about people sharing what a great drink it is. Blackwoods Gin is more on people treating themselves to a Blackwoods Gin. All encouraging. It is worth while looking at the Sainsbury online page for Rum. Note on it the cost per ltr. Since Redleg Rum has come pricing has become competitive. Having tried many of these Rums to me Redleg stands out as one of the best tasting at the price point. Positioning on the shelves is extremely important and what is reported by dc is encouraging. Sainsbury would be promoting their best selling rather than moving their lower volume sales to prime position. Concerning summer drinks - the Rum is a great strategy. Christmas period is the highest volume sales period. On past results the company has seen low sales volume in the first half of the year (March - September). By having a summer drink such as RedLeg Rum the company may be able smooth out more of the fluctuation in sales through the year. We are not going to know the success of the strategy until we see half year results. However, since last year the company has Increased UK listings for Redleg Rum including Bookers, Majestic Wines, Sainsbury and a number of independent bars and retail including festivals. Increased distribution of Blackwoods Gin Independent bars and retail including festivals US listing for Blavod and Blackwoods Gin and Blackwoods small batch Gin. I remain interested in Fever Tree as a valuation comparison (FEVR) latest results Revenue up 62% to GBP24.1m (H1 2014: GBP14.9m) -- Gross margin of 50.5% (H1 2014: 51.1%) -- Adjusted EBITDA(1) up 68% to GBP7.2m (H1 2014: GBP4.3m) -- Strong balance sheet with net cash at period end of GBP7.9m -- Diluted EPS of 4.44 pence -- Interim dividend of 0.78 pence per share Market Cap £488 million - share price £4.23 on eps 4.44p p/e of 95 | berny3
08/9/2015 07:33 | Always good to hear where the products are on sale and any additional outlets, thanks Bernie for the many updates. After all it is sales that will bring in the profits and that will hopefully be noticed by the MMS and drive the share price up. Keep up the good work guys. I bought a bottle of red leg from sainsburys in biggleswade, and it is an excellent tipple. Cheers. | crbema
07/9/2015 20:31 | No disrespect intended guys, but are you lot all boozers? All the chat on here is about where to buy the stuff. Very little about the company, the charts, the trades, the prospects. As a footnote, I took a look at the buy/sell today (through selftrade). Spread 0.7 to 0.85, are they having a laugh? This looks really wide to me. Looks like someone is trying to influence trading decisions. Remember a TU is coming soon - mid September. But I'm not an expert on spreads - any opinions? GL, pete | petersinthemarket |
