15/9/2005 09:49 | Good solid results. Almost no trading. Aren't the institutions interested in this one? | siskinbird
15/9/2005 07:47 | "The Group is trading well and the outlook remains positive for the rest of the year." | m.t.glass
13/9/2005 16:27 | Anyone know what the market is expecting in terms of figures on Thursday? | gswredland
26/8/2005 16:10 | me too! Had them from the start so sitting on good gain but wont be selling. The main risk I see is their level of debt. Althoug under control, it could cause problems if they get over excited and try and expand too fast. No sign of that at the moment, however, and I like the way they are picking off small independents one by one. Also crematoria are a nice little earner - high fixed costs, and once you have built one, you have a monopoly in the area. You would seem a bit tight is you drove grandma 40 miles away to save £100 on the crematoria costs! | woodsman2004
26/8/2005 13:58 | Yes I know thats why I got 6000 of them, I only buy shares where the downside is hard to fathom but I keep looking for one, of course your comments could be made of the Co-Op but yes DTY poses as an independent still uses the names of the outlets it buys I agree it is good people are shopping around more on price for funerals & paying in advance no I'm all for the stock | mryesyes
25/8/2005 17:13 | wherever I post the board dies | mryesyes
03/8/2005 15:43 | Lots of trading spread over so many sites that profit is zilch so far. There are a lot of publicly quoted parlours in North America and they don't deliver a big rate of return as they expand geographically, as Dignity has done | mryesyes
02/8/2005 21:53 | From today's Indpendent:- "Dignity rose 6.75p to 372.5p after strong trading at the funeral-services group." Does anyone know what this refers to? No RNS, but have their brokers released something? Whatever, it's obviously good news.........and there were a couple of massive buys today - looks like someone somewhere knows something. | siskinbird
02/8/2005 20:11 | I've topped up a couple of times lately. Looks like the next leg up. What with consumer spending on the decrease affecting builders, retailers and many more sectors I feel confident in having my hard earned cash with this company. Hopefully I will not have to eat my words in a few months time. Fill ya boots all! | bingobingy
02/8/2005 08:16 | Bought back in today. | chester
01/8/2005 15:51 | The bounce is in | analyst
01/8/2005 09:20 | I would agree Melody. I am also a long term holder and looking to add more on this dip. Just trying to find the botttom of the dip!! | gswredland
30/7/2005 11:23 | I consider Dignity to be a 'safe place to be in a storm'. But its been fair weather for the past few weeks - apart from the sad events in London that is. And I can see the attraction of coming out of DTY for perceived faster gains elsewhere. But fair weather won't last for ever. For me DTY is a core holding and I have no concerns whatsoever. The great news is - look out for an opportunity to add - this is an investors share and we'll see the upward trend resume shortly. All IMHO DYOR | melody9999
28/7/2005 17:46 | It's certainly beginning to look like it! | siskinbird
26/7/2005 10:06 | thanks siskinbird..wonder where we are heading pre results...360? | gswredland
25/7/2005 13:39 | Website now says that interims are due on September 15th. | siskinbird
19/7/2005 12:00 | I don't think a definite date has been announced yet - there's nothing on their website. | siskinbird
19/7/2005 09:14 | results due soon..was it aug 8th? | gswredland
19/7/2005 08:17 | it's had a good run of late. I expect a few to be taking profit. | bingobingy
18/7/2005 20:27 | A few poor days for us. Any ideas why? | siskinbird
02/7/2005 16:52 | This is one of those shares where there is no real downside to speak of. I scrathch my head hard to think of any which is why I just topped up again. The only possibles are bad publicity about its services/crematoria; poor financial management of the group including the simple failure to make a decent profit with all the little outlets taking on the Co-Op. However the institutions love this stock, the pension funds will get into it the bigger its market cap becomes. I think really poor management and bad publicity (for example Nord Anglia a huge provider of pre-school private nurseies-another commonly held licence to print money- halved in value from these two things in a few months) and lastly will come "overvalued" but Dignity is hard to value. I predict at some stage it will report a trading loss, the media will whip it up and then we may be able to grap a substantial wedge on the cheap. Last results profit was 1% of turnover? A trading loss IMHO be a good thing as the mgt will have to tighten up | mryesyes
29/6/2005 08:29 | Looks like we are moving again! Hoorah! | bingobingy |
