A welcome 3.3% increase today. I wonder what prompted the buying spree this afternoon?,followed by a large sale? of 150k that showed up at 17.21hrs. Or could it be a buy from earlier in the day?

A snippet from "Scotland On Sunday"

At Devro, the Moodiesburn sausage skin group, several directors led by chairman Pat Barrett have seen their regular stakebuilding in the company over the past two years continue to pay off with the shares almost doubling from their low point.

I agree idioterna, now is not the time to sell. Like you, I intend to see the final results with my present holding intact. I guess the weak US$ will have some effect, but hopefully this will be off set by the strong €?

A 150k T just gone through at the mid ;0)

Best wishes for Xmas and the New year.

So the big sells were a pension fund. I'm still holding and will wait until results are published for a further sense of direction. The turnaround in both the share price and the company's balance sheet have been phenomenal this year so I'm inclined to stick to my guns.

Have a very merry xmas with plenty of sausages :-)

See y'all next year.

None of the Directors have sold any of their personal holdings.

There was however, a further RNS today stating that the West Yorkshire Pension Fund no longer have a notifiable interest. They recently held 3.28%.

I doubt it is John Magnier, more likely to be the the butcher, in my opinion :;))

Looks like somebody unloaded a couple of million shares today. Is Magnier reducing his holding as the first investment funds get interested?

Could Glasgow become battle ground for clash of Celtic tigers?

BARFLY

SCOTLAND has been something of a magnet for an elite of super-rich Irish investors in recent years.

Dermot Desmond, below, the multi-millionaire financier, is the biggest shareholder in Celtic Football Club. His pal John Magnier, who has made his fortune breeding horses, has a 14% stake in Devro, the Lanarkshire-based sausage skin maker.

And now another rich Irishman, Noel Smyth, is about to pump millions into property on the River Clyde. His company, Alburn Tradeston, has been chosen to spearhead the £300m regeneration of the Tradeston waterfront site on the Clyde.

But Smyth may not be getting too close to at least one of his compatriots in the gentlemen's clubs of Glasgow.

He and Desmond are old enemies after a boardroom battle last year led to Smyth being forced out of the property company he founded, Dunloe Ewart.

Nor does it end there. Desmond is also said to have blocked Smyth's attempt to take over the captaincy of the K Club, the exclusive golf and country club in County Kildare owned by Michael Smurfitt. Will the battles now move to Glasgow?

Not much, but every little snippet keeps Devro in the news;0)

Well, if deutsche have gone, and they used to be there for 100, it could be that their blocks are being passed around to the new entrant (INV?). Not got much of a clue really, but it's not doing the price any harm ;-)
