Fairly predictable drift down before results (after last 6 months gains).IMO;- results better than expected , up to test 93p. results in line, drift to 68p area, any vaguely nasty surprises, down - how far, well depends what they are!!. IMO DVO will need to start showing sales / margin improvement if we are to make significant progress from here. Interims awaited with interest.

See you all next week for the interims.

Very thin volume all week and quite a large move down. Not worried though. I'm waiting until just before the close to see what type of a bargain price I can get. Probably buy ten to fifteen thousand.

A bit of an odd week, a lot of traders on holiday and volume across the market is thin. DVO has declined in relatively light volume (so far today) perhaps its a bit of profit taking before results compounded by thin trading volumes. In other words, less buyers around to pick up the slack?

We are on the slide idioterna and I don't know why.

I see no reason why the interims should be anything but good, but it would appear that others disagree with my view and are selling down just three days ahead of the announcement. It would be encouraging if someone, or two, would move in and pick up a few at these prices!

It appears there were still a few sellers to flush out, bit strange to drop out just a week before interims though.

A 200K buy, just 8 working days before the results - a confident buy.

Results date announced as Sep 3 - about ten working days then.

I agree looks like a tick up is on the cards.Someone seems to be aquiring these in bundles of 100,000 plus in recent days.Only a matter of time before we head north IMO.

Firming up on leveII today - another push north before the results imminent?

Due for some more buying from the big buyer too.

Looks like the big buyer is till at it - circa 800K buys @ 82p

Just dropped in for a quick look and happy to see that DVO has held up and CKN has leapt forward again today. I didn't seriously expect DVO to get through 85p without a bit of a struggle, it is, after all, technically the key resistance level before we wave bye bye to £1.

Interims are the key, those with faith have decided to hold by now, those who don't believe in the management or the product have probably already up and gone. Any positive comments from the management and I expect an upwards move from here to be pretty decisive and very fast (just look at CKN).

I think there's a constant buyer still - there a some big buys that constantly float through like 100K. I think they are meant to be disguised in some way but the chart tells a story, you rarely see a dip since April, the worst that happens is it reaches a price and sits there. There must be plenty taking profits but these are being soaked up by someone.

I agree with you both Ginster and CR. The recent daily trading pattern is far from normal and supports your conclusions. I am quite content to hold on in the present circumstances, even though I am sitting on a nice little profit of 50%.

Well one things for sure the heatwave right across Europe sure won't decrease the sale of sausages and other DVO linked products in the run up to the results.Looks like it might be a long one(now have I just gone and put water on the Barbe?)Hopefully might get a stong current trading announcement together with good results.

Now what is going on here, bid down .5p one minute and up .5p the next. Very odd!

Devro, being a creature of habit, there should be an announcement early next week as to the date for the interims. Last year the announcment came on Aug 9th for Sept 4th.

I am looking forward to a further reduction in the debt level and hopefully a 1.5p divi (:,))

The market sentiment - everything sees a bit of profit taking eventually.

MM's were absorbing a load tho - still think there's a big buyer out there.

What caused the rush to panic stations just after 11am?

Not the best of days today. Shake out had to happen eventually I suppose. Not too worried yet though.

Frankly taking August off from the markets. I have profitably traded from the March lows in many stocks but current market strength baffles me. Dont like shorting as a rule, but market seems dominated by momentum investors at present, and therefore we are likely to get seriously detached from the fundamentals on the upside at some stage this summer. Think I'll break that rule. Not DVO i amy add, but probably look at some of the tech shares (e.g. ARM: poor results, shareholders off loading shares, but still it soars).
Good luck until the interims.

jelfsie - pity to see you go. It's been a good ride though and from my perspective the upside is only about 10p more in the run up to results. Not much room for any mistakes at this price. Hopefully it's all on track and we'll head north of £1 in november.

Ginster,
I think these share valuations are purely based on meeting stated eps targets, cutting debt substantially and increasing the dividend.
As to the porcine casings they've already been successfully rolled out - how successful they've been in the market place could be the signal to send this baby over £1 (or back down again?).

Thanks Idioterna-much appreciated.

Hopefully might even get better results than expected although have to admit we have not had a "results will be materially better than expected" statement from the company who are generally good at keeping the market up to date.Anyway with a probable increased divi and the continuing reduction of net debt DVO looks to be in good shape for the medium to long term future.
With regard to the future a question-how does someone like DVO actually increase its market share/profit margins with such a small(relatively speaking)business arena/product range?.Did I read somewhere about a new type of revolutionary sausage casing DVO were developing-if correct does anyone know of its progress?

Well for my sins i sold the other half of my holding today and will now re-appraise at the interims. Good luck to those who continue to hold (and even better luck to those buying at this level).

487K and 500K buys over the top price at the close actally - looks like the 115K and 100K sells earlier were to fill these.

So the question is - who's buying this one up heavily, just before the results? Not a bid coming is there?
