13/10/2003 15:06 | Pleased to read that you enjoyed your golf in the UK idioterna. You would be wise to lay off the pensioners as with a bit of luck you will be joining us eventually. I have been out again this morning with the seniors roll-up 4bs. Most enjoyable it was too. A few of these were dropping. | besbury
13/10/2003 14:54 | A second RNS issued this afternoon is available on ADVFN regarding holdings by Devon County Council and Chase Nominees. Does not make sense to me as it states, that stock aquired not disclosed and stock disposed of not disclosed. Make of it what you will. | besbury

13/10/2003 14:42 | Your "idle speculation" had crossed my mind shuisky. I am inclined to believe that if it was likely, it would have happened by now! If Mr M can wait till next Monday, he can buy a few more MU shares with his Devro divi: I gather DVO have issued a RNS this am although I have been unable to bring it up on ADVFN. It refers to performance related free shares to directors. I will try and find it elswhere and paste here. | besbury
13/10/2003 12:14 | Note: this is idle speculation. If Magnier is preparing to upp his stake in Man United, won't he be under pressure to offload his Devro holding? | shuisky
13/10/2003 11:33 | Had a couple of excellent rounds last week in the UK. Much warmer than here, but a bit crowded with pensioners. Sorry I missed any Devro action, but I notice that holdings in BP and CKN have both moved ahead quite well. I'm not aware if Devro offer a scrip divi either, but there are plenty of shareholders who increase their holdings when the dividend becomes available. I will save this years dividend and depending upon next years results and dividend will buy some more. The problem is that my holding doesn't leave enough dividend to make it worthwhile every year. I reckon there were a few mm's preparing for Acomita among others to re-invest their divi in new shares. | idioterna
10/10/2003 16:46 | Welcome back. I had visions of you being incarcerated in the Tower of London without access to this modern technology. I was not aware that DVO offered a script dividend? If you have a chance to have a look at the trades for the past week or so, I would be interested in your observations. There were three or four days with large trades going through followed by the two RNS notes regarding large shareholders. | besbury
10/10/2003 16:29 | Hallo Besbury, Back from the UK. I think those exact mid-price trades are to do with shareholders who take their dividends in shares rather than cash. Just a guess. | idioterna
10/10/2003 14:24 | Another unusual set of trades today at funny prices. I have carried out a dummy run buy and sell and the quotes I obtained were the same as trades numbered 1 & 6. The rest are a mystery, IMO. | besbury
08/10/2003 14:54 | Being curious as to what 13 of the 20 trades so far today at the mid price of 80p represent, I carried out a dummy run to both buy and sell 20k online. The best buy price I could obtain was 80.75 and to sell 79.70. I am therefore none the wiser! Anyone out there have an idea? | besbury
07/10/2003 16:22 | Two RNS notifications of major interest in DVO shares issued this afternoon. Looks as if these two have been the destinations for the large buys in recent days. | besbury
06/10/2003 16:46 | This is the third consecutive trading day with many large numbers going through. These are clearly not small shareholders and to my mind it is reminicent of the days earlier this year when ACOMITA were building their stake. | besbury
04/10/2003 00:59 | If your thinking in the medium term the key is a strong run and a breakthrough 82p. FWIW, I'm holding this to give my portfolio balance & diversification. Yield is high(in a low interest rate environment), Cash Flow high, yield covered easily (so expect divi growth), end markets safe. It's an obvious LTBH. If it drops below 75p, I'll look to buy more, once their is stability in the price action. | shuisky
04/10/2003 00:33 | Devro looking good this morning. With several large buy trades to tag onto yesterdays, someone out there has considerable confidence in this company, to lay out the large sums of cash required to make these purchases. It certainly improves my feeling that I have made a sound investment that will reward my patience further, in due course. | besbury
03/10/2003 19:05 | A few more days like today and a breakthrough 82p should not prove too difficult. I wrote earlier:- Devro looking good this morning Well it looks even better this evening, particularly with those three large trades totaling 750k that turned up after the close. | besbury
02/10/2003 19:38 | Welcome back analyst, seems quite sometime since you made a contribution here. I must admit there is not a lot to write about at present, but, I for one appreciate your input. I am hopeful that we will not fall below 75p bid as I also would consider my position if that were the case. I have built up a nice profit to date and do not wish to see it dissapear. Today is the first for a while where we have seen several large numbers going through. Lets hope this continues. Regards B | besbury
02/10/2003 17:44 | Rising on pretty decent volume - good to see some middleweight buyers coming back in. Hope we start to see the uptrend again as if it drops below 75p bid I'll be finding somewhere else for my money | the analyst
02/10/2003 11:49 | And the bid back up to 77p. I can go now and enjoy my round this pm. | besbury
02/10/2003 11:42 | The 78p buy raised the ask, excellent! | idioterna
01/10/2003 16:51 | Unfortunate 78p trade at the end doesn't bode well for tomorrows ask. | idioterna
01/10/2003 11:31 | Certainly looks like a hearty breakfast ;0) The divi isn't disappearing, it's not even in my account yet. The share price might be slipping on the bid but the ask is as high as prior to interims, so if you bought in now you'd be paying the same price but missing the dividend. It's the punters who sell that are giving up the dividend. Noticed another two more of those mysterious trades this morning. | idioterna
01/10/2003 06:37 | I agree idioterna, the trading as you say for the past three months or so as been most unlike DVO. Hopefully, all will be revealed shortly as it is quite painful to see the divi disappearing day by day! Did you notice the picture of my breakfast cooking away in post 1356? Should be ready shortly.(:-} Regards B | besbury
30/9/2003 20:40 | Besbury - Looks like yet another inexplicable trade. There's been something going on behind the scenes here for about 3 months but I can't put my finger on it. On the other hand the mms appear loathe to drop the ask which would suggest somebody is happily gobbling up these sells. I'm shaken but not stirred as long as the ask holds 76p. | idioterna
30/9/2003 18:35 | Another strange trading day with no apparent justification for a 1p drop in the bid price. idioterna - are you able to explain two of todays deals for me please? The first one timed at 09.17hrs for 152,421 shares priced @ 78p,shown as an ordinary deal and put in the ? column. The second trade also for 152,421 shares @78.25p that appeared after the bell, entered in the buy column and shown as Broker to Broker. | besbury
30/9/2003 10:37 | There is not enough of this going on at the moment :-)) | besbury |
