Not too good all round Besbury. Share price still dipping and soaked to the skin on the golf course. Looks like the mms are on the verge of dropping the ask below 79p today.

Idioterna - Unfortunately not, I am in Gloucestershire and already committed both days. Hopefully, some other time.

Besbury - I'll be in the UK (London) this weekend, are you anywhere nearby for a round?

They are playing games again and its not golf! Dropped the bid for a while to 76 and raised it again to 77 shortly after. I have no idea why!

Sorry to hear you have got yourself soaking wet. We had a round in glorious Autumn sunshine this morning starting at 08.30hrs.

Not a good day idioterna. The divi has now slipped away from the bid price.

Good morning Besbury. I'm on way out for 18 holes soon. There's still a steady trickle of sellers locking in some good profits. I reckon it'll take some director buying to push us through 86p before results.
Not too worried though, I'm spending a lot of time away from the markets at present, so a "plodder" like Devro suits me. The dividend will soon be in the bank and if we do revisit 70p I'll be topping up.

Yes they are interesting idioterna, but funny numbers don't you think? It would be quite a coincidence, if three different people bought 57k each within such a short timescale. I noticed that the price drop only applied to the offer.

I have just got home from another enjoyable 18 holes!

Three interesting buys of 57k today, but still the price is moving down. At least the dividend will provide some consolation.

An encouraging start to exd day, with only a modest tick down on the mid and retaining the bid at 79p, for the one sell today so far of 10k.

I will be delighted if we can close without any further changes! :-()

I read in the Economist that there's a fear BSE might have crossed to sheep. Could this be what's holding the share price back?

This story has being doing the rounds for sometime, but so far no conclusive evidence that I have read.

What are your friendly MMs up to now? They have increased the bid this afternoon by .5p and shortly thereafter paid 79.5p for 65k.

Getting right royally fed up with the MMs games on this one.

Yeah looks like 82p is a strong resistance, some market makers are probably hodling back the price. The stock has had a good run and I think FFY and GLB are probably better value. Still like DVO but looks fully priced for now.

Have a look at the last three reported trades today which may steady your nerves a little, if you are feeling a bit wobbly that is.

I would also suggest you take the clubs for some exercise, I find it works wonders for me! It was glorious out today and with my partner in a 4B, just managed to win the 18th and finish all square.

Enjoy your weekend.

The share price isn't performing all that well. Just can't figure out why we haven't gone through 86p on the back of those interims. Devro just doesn't attract the punters since Hugh Hendry started waxing lyrical about Japan.

Morning Besbury,
Maybe Deutsche were a little short yesterday. Nice to see this big buy-small sell trend going on. Bodes well for our holdings.

A Market maker buy trade of 53,285 @81.5p appeared at 16.44hrs. Could it be that one of them has been caught short?

It looks as though our recent mystery buyer may have been at it again with a large single protected transaction ("T" trade) of 241,550 shares reported near the close.

Good morning all,
I've been unable to find any reviews of the interims in the press, so thanks for the links Besbury. These look fine to me and I don't forsee any adverse moves in the share price on the back of these figures. I expect to see the share price strengthen all the way to the finals, particularly since the global economic turnaround appears to be gaining momentum.

Off to Italy for a week now........

Good morning all.

This morning is almost as important for us all as yesterday and hopefuly will be as interesting.

I have found two newspaper articles so far. The link to THE SCOTSMAN article "Devro sees profits sizzle up 8.5%" is:

For the HERALD article: "Devro sizzles as gut feeling to beef up collagen brings home the bacon"

I will continue my search for anything else that may be appropriate.

I liked this:

Dividend
--------

The Board has declared an interim ordinary dividend of 1.1 pence per share
(2002: 1 pence). It will be paid on 20 October 2003 to shareholders on the
register at 26 September 2003.

But this was my favourite part:

Prospects
---------

Our business has been more stable than has been experienced for some time, with volume growth encouraging and trading strengthening as the year has progressed. Operating profit and margins have each improved whilst net debt continues to be reduced.

The second half, continuing this general trend, has started well and the Board
expects to be able to report further satisfactory progress when the full year's results are published.
