Yes. I think your right in terms of stability and recovery into the future. It’ll be interesting to see how authentication performs snd if it breaks the £100m barrier as indicated. It wasn’t that long ago they were trading at £2 and were trading at £1 within the last 12 months.
Future cashflows and competitive bidding will edge the price up but the sooner the bids come in the cheaper it will be for any buyer.

Well my guess would be any figure would have to be higher as we move through the second half irrespective of markets. I did think 80-5p might clinch it but i am now thinking nearer a £1 as the financials stabilise further. There is starting to be significant corporate activity targeting UK listed small/mid caps and i maintain if one competitor or even PE has a tilt at DLAR it would become competitive bidding process. The company though has certainly navigated the very rough waters it was facing earlier in the year so anyone sitting back waiting to pick up the pieces on the cheap is going to be disappointed and will need to be realistic..DLAR can further recover shareholder value over the coming years so any offer will have to reflect that.As i say just guessing really.

Kooba, it’s a difficult call but what would you say was a reasonable offer if someone came in to purchase?

Continued evidence of the stabilising financials and positioned for a pick up in currency division. If anyone is casting their eye over the company they will probably move sooner rather than later. I think the strategic value to industry is still a very decent premium to where the market values the company.

Pre-close trading update

De La Rue plc announces a trading update for the financial year ending 30 March 2024.

For H1 FY24, which ended 30 September 2023, the Company expects adjusted operating profit to be marginally ahead of previous guidance* given at the time of our full year results announcement on 29 June and reconfirmed at our AGM in September. Net debt is expected to be improved versus previous guidance, in the low £80m range. For the full year FY24, the Board's expectations for adjusted operating profit remain unchanged, reinforced by the half year position. Net debt for full year FY24 is now expected to be marginally better than previous guidance, in the mid £90m range. The Company's interim results for the period to 30 September 2023 will be announced on 19 December 2023.

* Guidance was that full year adjusted operating profit for the Group would be in the low £20m range for the full year and broadly break even for the first half year. Net debt would rise to around GBP100m at both half and full year.

So he now owns 6.13% of DLR or 12m shares. He increased his position from 5.21% on 10th Aug which equates to 1.8m shares purchased. Can anyone see on the the trades when this happened as I can’t.

I remember Charter slid from £11 per share to 33p , loaded up and sold when it eventually was sold for £12.00 per share to the yanks , nice .

I think you’d need good fundamentals to see a surge like that. Pure charting won’t do it surely. Hoping I’m wrong though.
I wonder what price Crystal Amber will be looking at to exit. They did say that they would look to return capital to shareholders in the coming months.
