Strange isn't it that posters who claim to own DTC shares are still attempting to run the company down. I'll let genuine shareholders draw their own conclusions.
The trading statement was very encouraging and if they continue to trade in line with expectations then EPS should be around 0.1p+ for year end 2006. Hence forward P/E ratio of 8.5. Given the sector, DTC's growth prospects and takeover activity (see earlier) these shares are ridiculously cheap.

also, the MM were playing games with the spread. They were only wanting to sell shares and not buy any?

What would also be good to know is when they plan the DVD launch of MJ as it looks like they have missed this xmas.

I think you will find that 'exclsive rights' are what will initially generate the greatest income. Therefore i would not personally expect to see big amounts generated from this now. If you look back over the last years when DTC have publshed sales info on individual programmes you will note that income is quite low (2k to 15k).

Cod,

Unfortunately i couldn't make it due to work ;-(

Also interesting to note that final numbers are 'hidden' in a RNS and one was not issued specifically for this. Personally i think they have messed the sale of this up due to unrealistic expectations.

And still no news of the poker tournament or Music Suite. Gievn this was a trading update you woudl expect the Poker tournament at least to have been mentioned.

On a positive note the distribution arm appears to be doing well, although i would not read to much into the DVD divisions numbers especially considering the time of year.

Statto it does say that "Further rights in the territory are currently
under negotiation with a further price to be agreed in due course."

So there is still the possibility that a mainstream channel like CBS would take it up.

Perhaps if CH hadn't have pushed for a % cut of the MJ doc profits the deal would have been far greater than $200k. Of course this figure "could" increase as stated.

Statto10,

Good turnout at the AGM?
Was my mate Len there?

All

Given all the commotion surrounding the MJ doc, $200k appears to be significantly less than most had hoped. Also given the fact that DTC saw fit to auction the doc i would assume that they were expecting better. I am not aware of the exact numbers but i am sure that the ABBA doc generated greater revenue.
Also no mention as to if and when ITV will be showing the doc.

Digital Classics say distribution ops performing well
LONDON (AFX) - Digital Classics PLC said that after less than five months of
trading in the current financial year, over 55 pct of the projected annual
turnover for its distribution business is contracted or in draft contract form,
with the overhead costs running at an annualised amount of 450,000 stg less than
at the same point last year.
It added its DVD division's first full month's turnover is 89 pct ahead of
expectations.
It also said its Iambic Productions division's activity is in line with
company expectations, and it has also agreed terms for the licence of its
Michael Jackson programme to the American Arts and Entertainment Network for an
initial package of rights priced at 200,000 usd.

Digital Classics plc

('Digital Classics' or the 'Group')

AGM Statement & Trading Update

Digital Classics plc is pleased to announce that, at the Annual General Meeting
held today, all resolutions were duly passed. The Directors also issued the
following trading update:

Digital Classics Distribution

After less than five months of trading during the current financial year, over
55% of the projected annual turnover is contracted or in draft contract form,
with the overhead costs running at an annualised amount of £450,000 less than
at the same point last year. Taking into account the seasonality of this
business, which sees comparatively little trading occur during the summer
months, the Directors are pleased with this progress.

Digital Classics DVD

As this division of the Group has only been operating for one month, the
Directors believe that activity to date should not be read as an indicator of
future performance, however the division's first full month's turnover is 89%
ahead of expectations and the Directors continue to be encouraged by this
progress.

Iambic Productions

The division's activity is in line with the Directors expectations. Forecast
production is proceeding as planned and the directors are pleased to announce
that the division has also agreed terms for the licence of its Michael Jackson
programme to the American Arts and Entertainment Network for an initial package
of rights priced at US$200,000. Further rights in the territory are currently
under negotiation with a further price to be agreed in due course.

Chief Executive, Chris Hunt said,

'We are pleased that the DVD label appears to have started very strongly, that
Iambic has licensed its Michael Jackson documentary for the highest unit price
that any division of Digital Classics has achieved to date for a documentary
programme licence in the USA, and that the distribution division is performing
well and from a more efficient cost base.'

The Financial times today reporting on Shed's £30m purchase of Ricochet has the following to say:-
'Consolidation in the fragmented independent production sector is expected to accelerate as the importance of content increases in a multi-platform digital environment. An increasing number of independent programme makers are also gaining access to funding through flotations, enabling them to make acquisitions.
The change in law in 2003 that ensured production companies maintained the ability to keep secondary rights for the programmes they created has made it easier for investors to put a value on them.'

It should be an interesting week for DTC with the AGM on Wednesday. If trading remains in line with expectations then given the backdrop there is no reason why the share price shouldn't begin to move upwards. Let's hope we are given some positive news on trading during the week.
