Just have a feeling that the doldrums are going to end very very soon for DTC. Sorry it's not more scientific.

TOM: that's the point though. I may criticise aspects I don't like, but I still like the potential.

But the stock adding may not be something in the shareholders best interest if it means buying it up at today's share price or similar, especially for shareholders who may have paid a lot more than today's share price

LONG LIVE DTC...but without the excesses, without the excuses and with the full attention of the CEO on the business (or preferably a different CEO) without cheap tricks to gain control of a perceived valuable rights or cheap excuses about a Tsunami that cost thousands of lives, that demean the company.

But do leopards change their spots?

still

whichever way you carve it up

someone liked the company and is perpetually adding stock like its going out of fashion

comments please

full: How many Chinese have died from bird flu who were eating star anise or even not eating star anise? Change the record will you, or at least do some research...or better still tell us that the MJ production was sold for £6m....and make our day.

For your info fullproof, China, a country with what 1.35 billion people,
has had SIX people die attributed to bird flu (to November 7th 2005), so your assertions look pretty stupid don't they!

anise needs to be processed correctly first - its not like eat it and you are innoculated - otherwise, why would the chinese be dying from flu when they eat anise

TOM: Any news from your T-leaves? I needed the adrenalin so it's only been coffee grounds for me and it's flatlining?

Someone, anyone have any news on DTC?

fullupfool: Correction the Chinese are dying even when taking Tamiflu, which is the point and why I suggested using it to get your own back by eating ducks, as star anise is traditionally used in Chinese cooking and sauces to accompany duck.

Star Anise does not really need processing to emit shikimic acid, a simple tissane or steeped tea will do that and as that is the active ingredient in Tamiflu it is incorrect to suggest some magic processing that takes place. This is done in order for the company to gain intellectual or patents which it could not do if it was simply star anise.

If you look at the research results you will actually see it's not really that effective in suppressing the symptoms, as we know it has no effect on the virus itself.

By the way, it looks as though Bird flue has delayed DTC and the MJ sale...well it's as good an excuse as changing the location of WPM...

shikimic acid is the main constituent of tamiflu, but even then Tamiflu only reduces severity of symptoms and the tests on the only human bird flu patients has not proved that successful.

Rather than paying for Tamiflu you would be better off paying 99p for a jar of Star Anise, which is where shikimic acid is extracted.

At least you could cook the duck and have a good sauce, as star anise is one of the ingredients the Chinese use in duck dishes.

Interestingly (or not), another constituent in the attempt to symthesise the drugs constituents involved using massive amounts of E.Coli bacteria....So if the flu doesn't get you e.coli might.

LONDON (AFX) - Greggs PLC, Britain's biggest high street baker, warned second-half profit is below expectations after it was hit by sluggish consumer spending growth.

My verdict on the results from Greggs
Apparently Greggs are not producing enough Dough as they used too.The results show that the company is CRUMBLING to STICK together. These results are not the ICING on the CAKE as one would expect.Perhaps the chairman should join the workers and take to the FLOUR! The public DOUGHNUT spend as much as they used to on CAKES and really this is the BREAD and BUTTER of their business.
The company could be JAMMY if things pick up but right now are now in a PICKLE as the profits are not RISING and at the AGM the management might get GRILLED.
To summarise "IF THEY CAN'T STAND THE HEAT GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN"
afterall who really is CREAMING the profits?!!!! the results are FRUITLESS!!
a management change could mean a new leader -perhaps a women called ECLAIR might just do the biscuit?
