23/11/2005 13:51 | most of us with DTC shares have already suffered the pain barrier many times. DTC shares are like a high jump? no matter how many times you jump over someone keeps raising the bar and we are left to jump again. Right now we are at 14m 20cm and still going up. (Was going to use a limbo analogue but dont want the share price to drop further). John | johnmp

18/11/2005 20:16 | Thanks again Gary for the "Vital" lead. I recommend others to visit their website and have a really good read of it. Possible alternative distribution strategies, for DTC products, are all there. Many of the suggestions put forward on here, by others, are offered by Vital. Who knows, DVD distribution on behalf of DTC may only be the start. | inkitin

18/11/2005 13:55 | A classic introduction 02/Nov/2005 A new DVD label specialising in classical music and arts entertainment is launching with a number of releases covering everything from ballet to world music and pop via TV programming, feature films, documentaries and performances. Digital Classics DVD has been formed by Digital Classics Plc, which controls the rights to hundreds of titles, many of which have in the past been licensed to other labels. According to label director John Kelleher, Vital will handle the distribution for all Digital Classics' titles, the first of which include The Search For Robert Johnson and Testimony: The Story Of Shostakovich starring Ben Kinglsey. The intention is to make Digital Classics the world's market leader in the classical music and arts DVD sector within two years, and the label is expecting to release around 30 titles in 2006 prior to regaining the DVD rights to numerous other titles a year later. Chief executive Chris Hunt said: "'This is an exciting opportunity to achieve significantly higher returns on our properties by doing the whole job ourselves, rather than outsourcing to an external label. In light of the fact that, from 2007, nearly 100 further rights will revert to us, this is likely to become an important source of revenue for us over the next few years." | garysmith7
18/11/2005 09:58 | you would think they would tell the market that the dvds are on sale even it was non reg | tom2468

17/11/2005 10:01 | Thanks Inkitin for posting the DVD links. | jabberstocky
17/11/2005 00:54 | Gary Sorry, I misunderstood. So, Vital are the distributors for Digital Classics DVD then? The seven titles seem to be the full set at the moment. I wonder if there will be any more before Christmas? Probably not, but I'm sure we'll keep our eyes open for any more. | inkitin |
