thought Greece was getting close?

TBF its all over now.

5% today on DTG for those able to pinpoint and buy at the low and pinpoint and sell at the top.

That would be handy every day.

Not that it is relevant to this board but I loaded up on SPX at 2090 even though that day was much much higher (aka the "close" to borrow from your definition) but that's ME!

Sadly I missed the low as was waiting for 145. And missed similar lows elsewhere - Well up this year so: Ca M'est Egale!

OH - happy to hear that and I particularly like the fact you're flexible in what otherwise is an extremely volatile sector (especially in this mad C19 world). As the wise man said: one's preferred horizon should be long term UNLESS enough pain is experienced in the shorter term.

Tiger - with the best will in the world I don't quite get you pal. An intraday below 200 (especially in a "10 bagger in reverse" stock) is very real. Check out the posting traffic on this board during late feb/early March! It's pretty much like saying that Crude Oil futures a few months back dropping to -$40 was meaningless as the price went straight back up afterwards? Wrong - very real fortunes were made (and lost) at those extremes. Finally - sure as day ALL investors are glued to their screens when their shares are dropping like a stone. Thats when they all turn into what they predicate against - watch their collapsing shares second by second

I agree but it did not close there.
Intra day is not a true reflection.

Who just spots that moment?

the day after 175 it closed over 500p

tong I agree but you have to work on a closing price.

situation was grave but I will agree its been up 3x its closing low and settled now at 2x its closing low.
the 10.00 was a false high and it only touched it for a short period.
5/7 is a better reflection of where we are.

FESTARIO.
As I post there are 32 in the air now. so 1/3rd of the fleet.
Capacity is much higher than 25%.
Most of the Portugal flights are 90/95% with some sold out. Prices are now £600 flights only.
Of course not much on the return sector.
Spain was hampered by only opening for 3 weeks.
Turkey/Greece have been circa 80% full.

Lets look at Leeds in a normal summer 12/14 flights leave early morning and most would do another sector in the afternoon.
So faro 8.30 am back to leeds 3.30 and go to turkey.

Tomorrow we have
4 early flights
1 midday
1 pm
Friday
5 early
6 afternoon

You still need check in /gate staff and handlers but whilst you can reduce the numbers the effective cost per pass is much higher.
1 man can push out 12 aircraft from the stand. You still have 1 man for 4 aircraft.

Things are bad and its not Jet2 fault but I am sure others are in much more trouble.

Do not disagree with you there Tongosti. All said and done, I am surprised how stable the price has been recently. I keep expecting sharp movements both ways but not happening. Currently sitting tight in a decent position with the opinion that long term, it is a good investment but accept that I may have to exit again if shorter term turns downward.

Also... a bigger concern for me, if the reduced fleet is only flying at 25% capacity.... how full are those individual planes?I'd suggest 30% at best. The implications for cash flow are obvious. The costs of each individual flight will now far outweigh the revenue generated.

The absolute low (on intraday basis was well below 200p). The swing high following those lows was beyond 1000 so technically we have had an upswing > +400%. Have said it before that in my mind this is the market's way of telling us that odds are DTG will emerge stronger from this all. Naturally I agree with you the business is v challenged shorter term but the market has already discounted that.
