06/6/2002 10:24 | The UK has a very small float and has not / will not take the lead. The UK MMs were well aware that the price would rise after the depressing effect of certain trades which take place in the first two days of each month. | ![]() miata
06/6/2002 10:18 | FF What you posted is pretty accurate. However, discounting the US hype, it's worth ($10-$14), Danka has performed an amazing turn-around. From a dead duck status Danka it is poised to return to profits because of stripping out deadwood, re-investing in new technology AND it's got proven clean books. Where do you get your 37/45 valuation from? Institutions over here are now buying in and I doubt that if they thought it was going down dramatically, they would have invested at this present time. Interestingly, the bears had a go stateside, but the UK didn't bite, if anything the UK has now taken the lead role which will help stabilise matters IMHO. | serious punter
06/6/2002 10:06 | Sigora.... There was an interesting article in the Sunday Telegraph concerning how difficult it was to read company accounts due to their increased complexity and focusing on such figures as ebitda..write offs..exceptional costs...etc... They went on to say that they are masking the most important figure for the investor which is the Pre Tax profit and loss.....as this indicates the underlying performance of the business.....your an accountant what was the Pre Tax figure for Danka as a matter of interest.? The service revenues are still declining and account for a larger percentage of the revenue base than its peers ...dnk..approx. 60% and IKN approx.43%...which imho is an area for concern.... The company will face extra finance charges this Fiscal year and are as follows. They have to seetle to outstanding notes which mature on the 1st of April 2002 of approximately $16m They have increased term payments to make of $4m at the end of each quarter. They have a fee of 1.5% of the outstanding credit facility to pay at the end of June.. The interest rate will increase by 0.5% at the end of June and EVERY quarter there after.. All these amounts can be verified by checking with the SEC filings....and if the revenue base has not been stabilised could cause problems in the future...imho Certain posters in the US were including the sale of DSI in their earnings calculations which in my opinion is very misleading as it was an one off extraordinary gain and does not reflect on the performance of the survivng business.... The earnings as of the US accounts in Q4 were 0.004 cents after payment to the participating shareholders.....cer I stated at the time that the earning figure was to low to support the share price which has been proved correct...... | ![]() forfaiter

06/6/2002 07:52 | Mornin All Thanx for reply Oaks. Yesterday was good news IMHO. Not because the price in the UK was reasonably firm, but seeing the yanks twit about, the UK was stronger again. In the light of no bear attack in UK (no reason to anyway), then the UK is keeping the light burning, by leading. This is good news, because Stateside, they seem to be too volatile with their major ramps & de-ramps. A cooler approach is required, with more considered thought. DANKY/DNK will progress north, but with less volatility if the UK maintains the lead. When the results come out at the end of July for Q1, then we will see the progress being made. Day traders may make a few bob during the fluctuations, but long term holders IMHO will be well rewarded. Where the yanks keep banging on abot 'its worth $10+++ is totally unrealistic until Q2. LL is doing a very good job so far, but to expect meteoric rises now is totally unrealistic. Today, I believe we will see another move north, and with the yanks playing second fiddle at the moment, the price will be less volatile. We've seen (IMO) institutional support here in the UK and this will be further extended as time proceeds. DANKY/DNK is an organisation that has righted itself and is poised to progress at a rapid rate of knots. Sorry for the ramblings, but I had to get it off my chest. :0) | serious punter
