31/5/2002 15:30 | NS - went to Wentworth last week(?) for the PGA, they can almost play as good as me! :-) I agree your sentiments re Ryder Cup vs World Cup. | webley
31/5/2002 15:25 | Off subject, for anyone who likes a flutter ( silly thing to say on here ! ) and is a little bit interested in World Cup but not madly, I may have a solution to help the next few weeks. I just had a bet with a few mates, and for a £109 stake which is £0.02 per game, we each have a bet running on the number of 3-3 draws throughout the event. For 1 = £1.56, 2 = £124.80, 3 = £9860.76, 4 = £38,700.48, and 5 = £96,135.00 Makes it a tad more bearable, but wish it were the Ryder Cup instead !!! | newstarter

31/5/2002 14:58 | lex - I think thompson can be used like the SETS order book to create an impression to suit a purpose. We all know that large trades are placed on SETS, with no intention of making a trade, and are removed and replaced at a different price. This weighs one side of the order book to create the desired impression. Eg Eg Loading up the selling side, to disuade buyers, whilst building a position that would otherwise lead to an increase in buying interest and the pice. If I were an institution wanting to build a position this is how I would use Thomson - amongst other things. That said - you just can't tell. | webley
31/5/2002 14:55 | After very hesitant start the buys are beginning to appear in US up to 390/392 | jayno
31/5/2002 14:48 | thomsonfn.com is showing selling interest with red arrow pointing down, all contrary to technical indicators from I can see. | ![]() lex1000
31/5/2002 14:44 | NS - the arrow in the price chart - it points to a price! ;-) These arrows - by their colour, size and position represent the average of the buy/sell interest for the time period. When the arrow appeared there was only the 200k super sell message. So it indicates the price they wanted. It (the chart) does exactly what it says on the tin (in the chart key) Hope this helps | webley

31/5/2002 14:37 | from yahoo Bullish signs by: vynko (M/Florida) Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy 05/31/02 09:30 am Msg: 28337 of 28337 the fast line on MACD is showing a bullish turnaround. RSI has already turned upward from 30 (bullish). RSI as of yesterday's close was 50.7, crossing the 50 line heading up (very bullish). Using Point-&-Figure based on the MACD and RSI, we might go up $1.50 from here over the next month. $5.50 would not suk! :) Peace, Patience, Profits. | ![]() psychicdoc

31/5/2002 14:24 | NS - have a look at the "How to use the price/volume charts". Thomson is a very useful site but can be misleading. Eg messages only have a short life span. There can be 10 messages throughout the day - but in reality it is the same firm posting the same interest - which might well not result in a trade. Hence use the info in conjunction with the pie chart and an actual volume chart(such as msn) to make sense of the info. | webley |
