Good evening Gizmo 555. Just seen another couple of your super-crypto posts on the other site, regarding the Nomura Investment Fund. I'm afraid my brain lacks the capacity to interpret them and I would be most grateful if you could, perhaps, provide a bit of elaboration, for the intellectually challenged, like myself. My thanks in anticipation.

If it wasn't for that late trade yesterday at 12.85p, which was a bit of an outlier, I believe today would probably be in the blue. Was that trade a reflection of the difficulty of getting hold of that volume of stock (175,000) in one fell swoop? So far, been very quiet today.

You'd think we're at the end of the pre-Budget manouvreing at this point.

Looks like you are on the money bunlop - 50/200 Golden Cross - a strong bullish signal. It would have been even better with higher than average volumes !

Anyone who has been involved in selling-in to Japan can probably vouch how tough that really is; I tried three times - and failed three times, and I have boundless patience. IMHO you cannot underestimate what you are taking on; the games that are played, one is up against Japan Inc.

I stand corrected. I have retired to the naughty step and am currently having a lunch of pie (humble, of course) and watching PMQ's. At least the Rayner/Dowden interchange had a bit of spark and humour to it. Let's hope we still have something to smile about after RR has delivered her budget. Won't be putting money on that one. Thank you for reminding us of the numbers, Multi. Always good to see a succinct and informative summary of where we are now. And I do apologise for allowing my impatience to float to the surface. I have spoken on many occasions of my admiration for JC and HP (and the others) and I certainly hope that they (and all on here) get the rewards for their unstinting efforts. GLA

PS: That's it, had enough PMQs. Going over to Homes Under the Hammer.

I fully agree SBP - it was a single 6.5 million meter order and definitely over £100m in revenue...maybe thin gruel for the likes of Mr Musk but for CYAN and us as average punters overindulgent 12 course meals over several months !

For perspective (from header)

* A further about £115m/$152.5m in orders in calendar year 2024 RNSed so far - Montecarlo, Thailand and Intelllismart and "the whale contract"

* CYAN currently has about 30% current market share in India in RDSS contracts and about 26% if taking into all smart meter communications contracts in India.

* Order pipeline in India : 13.1 million units = approx £198m / $262m

* Backlog yet to be delivered in India: 9.9 million units = approx £150m / $198m

Our overall employee headcount is circa 130 - most of them technical or involved in implementation support.

I seem to recall our RoW business team is/was about 3-4 person strong at best - so bandwidth is limited to pursue every opportunity in the RoW. It is not just looking at bidding for contracts which are often several hundred pages long with appendices, declaration, bank guarantees but also have to take into account working capital, on site demonstration of technical specifications, bespoke requirements for the project, engineering and CEM capacity etc.

Just dealing with the Indian tenders given their scale is equivalent to getting contracts from 30 or 40 other countries.

Good luck all :)

I totally agree with that SBP, but I would like to get a sense of orders, even quite modest ones, coming from multiple sources to support the idea that there is a broader global market out there, as John alluded to in the the Q&A. I'm not sure I even expect 6m orders every year, never mind every week! The recent 6.5m order was brilliant and for many of us on here would have been the stuff of dreams not so long ago. I have to say that the pace of things in Thailand has been rather disappointing, to say the least. Still, we are, I feel, in a good place and hopefully we will hear some news soon. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the info about Japan? That would have been a good market to crack (assuming we're not involved).

DTB,

Not sure I agree with your "thin gruel" summary, if we had had 6 orders for a million or 3 for two million spaced out it might have felt better, but same net effect as one 6 million. We can't expect 6 million orders every week!

The radio silence is deafening here. Apart from the recent order from whoever, this year has been pretty thin gruel, order-wise, when you think about it. Hopefully the improved IR will put some meat on the bone. If it ever kicks in, that is.

Hopefully our VP International Sales is on the case. Was there an article on it, SBP? And what stage are they at? Of course the Japanese are pretty hot technologically, so they may have used their own in-house companies. If not, I would be surprised and disappointed if we had not, at some stage, taken an interest in getting involved.

It's a shame that we don't seem to be involved in the huge RF rollout of smart meters in Japan, unless anyone knows different?

Well spotted Skinny - the ADVFN website is having a number of glitches....it looks like the developers are experimenting, or creating more problems in trying to sort out the issues they have !

Edit: A bit like the Kessler effect !
